Mitt Romney Likes Being Able To Fire People

Mitt Romney was trying to explain his position on health insurance today, and instead brought up a sore subject. Romney said to a crowd, “I want individuals to have their own insurance. That means the insurance company will have an incentive to keep you healthy. It also mean that if you don’t like what they do, you could fire them. I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. You know, if someone isn’t giving the good service, I want to say, ‘I’m going to get someone else to provide this service too.” You can tell he instantly recognizes his blunder as he stumbles through his next sentence. Romney just performed the classic, “open mouth, insert foot.”

The Democratic Rapid Response Team jumped right on this one, and had a new campaign ad out about an hour later, “Mitt Romney Likes Firing People.”
