Paul Ryan Says He Is Not Ready To Endorse Donald Trump

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday, Ryan said it is possible for the party to be unified but not at the current moment. He was asked the question every Republican is being asked right now, can he support Donald Trump.
“Well, to be perfectly candid with you, I’m not ready to do that yet at this point,” Ryan said. “I am not there right now. I hope to though. And I want to. What’s required is that we unify the party. And I think the bulk of the burden of unifying the party will have to come from our presumptive nominee. I do not want to underplay what he accomplished. He needs to be congratulated for an enormous accomplishment for winning now a plurality of delegates and now he’s on his way to winning the majority of delegates.” “So you’re saying that you can’t support or endorse him right now?” Tapper asked. “I am basically saying that,” Ryan answered.
