Joe has two new ads he plans to air in Iowa. Both of the ads address the war in Iraq, and cast Joe Biden as the only candidate with a plan to “get us out of Iraq, and keep us out.” The first ad, which is already airing in Iowa, was used by moderator George Stephanopoulos at the last Democratic debate on Sunday to introduce a question on Iraq. The first ad is called, ‘Cathedral,’ and details a trip Biden took to Iraq. In the ad Biden talks about a flag draped coffin that accompanied him on his flight back from Iraq. “As I climbed into the C-130, strapped into the middle of that cargo bay was a flag-draped coffin,” Biden says in the ad. “It turned that cargo bay into a cathedral. And all I could think of was the parents waiting at the other end. We must end this war in a way that doesn’t require us to send their grandchild back.” As the image fades the ad says, “Joe Biden is the only candidate with a plan to get us out of Iraq and keep us out.” In the second ad, ‘Security,’ he explains his plan to get out of Iraq. He plans on dividing Iraq into three parts to “create the breathing room needed to stabilize the country.” Biden promises to tell us the truth when dealing with Iraq. Biden also has a big stake in the war in Iraq. His son Beau, is in the Delaware National Guard and is scheduled to be deployed to Iraq early next year.
