Barack Obama appeared on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night. Most of it was fun, like when Stewart showed Obama unflattering headlines about him like ‘Angry Obama The Pothead Is Not How They Remember Him In Hawaii.’ Obama said campaigning is a bit insane sometimes, like when you wake up and have to look at Mike Gravel first thing in the morning. Stewart ask Obama about his experience, or lack of it, and Obama responded, “No body has a longer resume than Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, and that hasn’t worked out so well.” Obama said Hillary Clinton is “a very capable senator” and “very smart.” Stewart at one point mentioned that Obama should start small by maybe running a smaller country before trying the United States, and Obama responded, “What I did think about, though, was invading a smaller country.” That’s in the second video. He cited Grenada as an example after mispronouncing it’s name. Stewart asked Obama about his celebrity support, like Oprah Winfrey, who is hosting a major fund-raiser at her California home. Obama responded saying, “I think having Oprah’s support is wonderful….but the truth is in Iowa and New Hampshire, people just want to talk to you. They want to lift the hood, they want to kick the tires, they want to look in the eyes.”
