McCain to Announce He Will Be a Candidate in 08 on Letterman

John McCain used the David Letterman show to announce he will be a candidate in 08. He said the official announcment will be in April, but on Letterman McCain said, “I am announcing that I will be a candidate for President of the United States.” He called this “the announcement preceding the formal announcement.” He thought it would be a good idea to drag it out a bit, try different rendentions of his announcements even. McCain was also asked if he would consider being a vice president, and he answered, “You know, I spent all those years in a North Vietnamese prison camp, kept in the dark, fed scraps – why the heck would I want to do that all over again?” If you would like to see his interview with Letterman just just click here.
