President Obama Has Too Many Accomplishments

Film maker Davis Guggenheim who is known for making Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” has produced a video for President Obama. During an interview with Piers Morgan he was asked about President Obama’s negatives, and Guggenheim responded, “there were too many accomplishments.” To much stuff to cram into his 17 minute documentary. He later told Morgan that he is “quite in awe of him as a leader.” This is not a “documentary” as it is being sold, but only a 17 minute political campaign ad for President Obama.

GOP Weekly Address 3/10/2012

From the GOP, “In the Weekly Republican Address, North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple explains why the economy is doing so well in his state, in stark contrast to the national economic picture.” He says there are two main reasons the national economy is is not doing as well. “First, the Federal government is unnecessarily adding to the cost of living and the cost of doing business in America. Just one example is our cost of energy. The price of gasoline is rising rapidly because we continue to depend on foreign oil. It is now within our reach to become energy independent in North America if we simply develop the resources we already have available in places like the Gulf of Mexico, non-sensitive public lands across America, and in our friendly bordering countries.” “The second reason we are on the wrong track is that the Federal government is killing energy development with overly burdensome regulations. The best example of this is the Keystone XL pipeline which the Obama Administration will not allow to be built.” Dalrymple adds, “America needs to return to a government based on common sense.”

President Obama’s Weekly Address 3/10/2012

From the White House; “Speaking from a factory in Virginia, President Obama talks about how companies are creating more jobs in the United States, making better products than ever before, and how many are developing new technologies that are reducing our dependence on foreign oil and saving families money at the pump.” According to President Obama, “we have a choice. Right now, some folks in Washington would rather spend another $4 billion on subsidies to oil companies each year. Well you know what? We’ve been handing out these kinds of taxpayer giveaways for nearly a century. And outside of Congress, does anyone really think that’s still a good idea? I want this Congress to stop the giveaways to an oil industry that’s never been more profitable, and invest in a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising. We should be investing in the technology that’s building the cars and trucks and jets that will prevent us from dealing with these high gas prices year after year after year.” He says “we can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices.”

President Obama Lobbying Against Keystone XL Pipeline

U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell spoke on the floor today and claimed President Obama is calling Democratic Senators to ask them to vote against Senator Hoeven’s amendment on the Keystone XL Pipeline. McConnell said on the floor, “There’s a report this morning that President Obama is personally making phone calls to Democrat Senators he thinks might vote for this amendment. He’s asking them not to. And, frankly, it’s hard to even comprehend how out of touch he is on this issue. I mean, think about it: at a moment when millions are out of work, gas prices are skyrocketing and the Middle East is in turmoil, we’ve got a president who’s up making phone calls trying to block a pipeline here at home. It’s unbelievable.”

Romney Says Real Change Is On It’s Way

Mitt Romney spoke after the super Tuesday voting and said, “For this administration, the unemployment number is just another inconvenient statistic standing in the way of a second term. We will not leave you behind. Our campaign is on the move. And real change is finally on the way.”
