If Rick Santorum Couldn’t Say No To Specter, Can We Trust Him?

Mitt Romney has a web only ad out that smears Rick Santorum for supporting Arlen Specter while Specter was actually a republican. Specter has since changed over to a democrat. Santorum even spoke of this deal during the CNN debate earlier this week, but since then Specter has denied it ever happened. Now Romney is now using it against Santorum.

Arlen Specter Calls Rick Santorum A Liar

During the CNN republican debate in Arizona Rick Santorum claimed he made a deal with Arlen Specter about supporting judicial nominees of the president. Specter made an appearance on CNN with John King and claimed he never made such a deal with Santorum. Specter was a democrat who turned to a republican and then turned back to a democrat in 2008 just to try to stay in office. A lifetime politician that changes colors like a chameleon.

Mitt Romney Saves Missing Children

The Super PAC supporting Mitt Romney, Restore Our Future, is running a new ad that talks about Romney being instrumental in helping to find a missing girl of one of his business partners. In the ad Robert Gay says, “My 14-year-old daughter had disappeared in New York City for 3 days. No one could find her. My business partner stepped forward to take charge. He closed the company and brought almost all our employees to New York. He said I don’t care how long takes, we’re going to find her. He set up a command center and searched through the night. The man who helped save my daughter was Mitt Romney. Mitt’s done a lot of things that people say are nearly impossible. But, for me, the most important thing he’s ever done is to help save my daughter.”

Here is an ad from Romney’s 2008 Presidential campaign that is almost identical to the above ad;

Newt Gingrich Slams President Obama For Apologizing To Karzi

Burned copies of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, were found in a garbage pit on a U.S. air field in Afghanistan which kicked off a bunch of riots against all Americans in Afghanistan. Thursday morning President Obama sent a formal apology to Afghan president Hamid Karzai about the situation. About the same time reports were coming in that two American soldiers were killed and many more wounded after an Afghan soldier fired on them in retaliation for the book burning. The reason the books were burned is because prisoners were writing in them to pass messages. The proper way to dispose of a Quran is by burning it, but it has to be done in a respectful way, not in a trash pile.
Newt Gingrich was not cheerful about President Obama’s apology saying, “there seems to be nothing that radical Islamists can do to get Barack Obama’s attention in a negative way and he is consistently apologizing to people who do not deserve the apology of the president of the United States period.” “The President apologized for the burning, but I haven’t seen the President demand that the government of Afghanistan apologize for the killing of two young Americans,” Gingrich said. “And candidly, if Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, doesn’t feel like apologizing then we should say good bye and good luck, we don’t need to be here risking our lives and wasting our money on somebody who doesn’t care.”
The Obama team recognized that apologizing would be controversial and responded early, even before Gingrich had attacked. White House spokesman Jay Carney responded to reporters yesterday saying, “It is wholly appropriate, given the sensitivities to this issue, the understandable sensitivities…. His primary concern as commander in chief is the safety of the American men and women in Afghanistan, of our military and civilian personnel there. And it was absolutely the right thing to do.”

President Obama’s Energy Policy Speech From Miami 2/23/2012

President Obama gave a speech at the University of Miami to talk about his energy policies for the future. It sounded a lot like his policies from the last three years with nothing new. President Obama said the republicans like the rising gas prices and think of it as a “political opportunity.” This, coming from the same group that said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” “Some politicians, they see this as a political opportunity. I know you’re shocked by that. Last week the lead story in one newspaper said, ‘Gasoline prices are on the rise and Republicans are licking their chops.’ That’s a quote. That’s the lead. Licking their chops. Only in politics do people root for bad news. They greet bad news so enthusiastically,” Obama said. “You pay more, they’re licking their chops. You can bet that since it’s an election year, they’re already dusting off their three-point plan for $2 gas. I’ll save you the suspense. Step one is to drill and step two is to drill and then step three is to keep drilling. We are at the same line in 2007 when I was running for president. We hear the same thing every year. We’ve heard the same thing for 30 years. Well, the American people aren’t stupid. They know that’s not a plan, especially since we’re already drilling,” he said. He has dreams of making cars run off of alternative fuels like algae. “We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline and diesel and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance. Algae. You’ve got a bunch of algae out here, right?” “If we can make energy out of that, we will be doing alright,” Obama said.

President Obama Doesn’t Bet Against The American Auto Worker

President Obama’s campaign team have put together a new ad called “Made In America” boasting about the auto bailout. In the ad the announcer says, “Made in America. For generations of Michigan auto workers, it’s more than a slogan, it’s a way of life. But when a million jobs were on the line, every Republican candidate turned their back, even said, ‘Let Detroit go bankrupt.’ Not him.” Then the ad cuts to President Obama saying, “Don’t bet against the American auto industry.”
