While the rest of the pack is playing in all or nothing Florida, Ron Paul has been campaigning hard in Maine which has a nonbinding caucus February 4th through the 11th. He told Candy Crowley on CNN, “I really do believe we’re going to do quite well there and have a good chance of winning.” He explained he is staying out of Florida because it is to expensive to campaign there.
Herman Cain officially endorsed Newt Gingrich yesterday during a visit in Florida. Cain told the enthusiastic crowd, “I hereby officially and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich for President of the United States.”

Sarah Palin has not officially endorsed anyone yet even though her husband has come out on Newt Gingrich’s side. She did say she would have voted for Gingrich in South Carolina just to keep the race going. Now Palin went on Fox News and told John Stossel of Fox Business, “Look at Newt Gingrich, what’s going on with him via the establishment’s attacks. They’re trying to crucify this man and rewrite history and rewrite what it is that he has stood for all these years.”
Mitt Romney is currently running an ad that features NBC News and Tom Brokaw giving the news the night that Speaker Newt Gingrich was found guilty of ethic charges he was facing. Brokow issued a statement asking Romney to stop using the ad. “I am extremely uncomfortable with the extended use of my personal image in this political ad. I do no want my role as a journalist compromised for political gain by any campaign.” Does that include President Obama? The Romney campaign said this about the ad, “In 1997, Democrats and Republicans overwhelmingly found Newt Gingrich guilty of ethics violations. The ethics violations resulted in a large financial penalty and questions about his effectiveness as Speaker.”
Here are some more details of the ad from Newsy, with Brokaw’s complaint and the response from the Romney’s campaign.

From the GOP; “Florida Senator Marco Rubio explains the failures of the Obama administration. He contrasts those with the promise of America that he and Republicans believe in, if the government stops doing the wrong things.” Senator Rubio says, “As you know, earlier this week, President Obama delivered his fourth annual address to Congress. It was an opportunity for the President to talk about his accomplishments over the last three years and to lay out his plans for the year ahead. And he missed on both counts. You didn’t hear much talk about the success of his Administration—and that’s because there isn’t much.”
