Ron Paul Calls Drug War A Total Failure

During the CNN/Heritage Foundation debate Ron Paul explained his views on Americas war on drugs. Paul said, “The federal war on drugs is a total failure, at least let sick people have marijuana.” Paul wonders, “why don’t we handle the drugs like we handle alcohol? Alcohol is a deadly drug. What about… the real deadly drugs are the prescription drugs. They kill a whole lot more people than the illegal drugs.” Ron Paul concludes, “it just doesn’t work.”

Mitt Romney Wants Us To Believe In America

Mitt Romney has released a new ad that has stirred up the left a bit. According to the ad, “Mitt Romney will take a smaller, simpler, and smarter approach to government. We have a moral responsibility not to spend more than we take in. It’s high time to bring those principles of fiscal responsibility to Washington, D.C.” The left is annoyed that Romney took a quote from the 2008 campaign in which then candidate Obama stated, “If we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.” The line is taken out of context since then candidate Obama was quoting a McCain spokesperson. The Romney campaign support the ad and have released a statement saying, “Three years ago, candidate Barack Obama mocked his opponent’s campaign for saying ‘if we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.’ Now, the tables have turned – President Obama is doing exactly what candidate Obama criticized. President Obama and his team don’t want to talk about the economy and have tried to distract voters from his abysmal economic record.” The sixty second ad will run on stations mostly in New Hampshire.

Newt Gingrich Tells OWS To Take A Bath And Get A Job, Upsetting MSNBC Host

Newt Gingrich offered some advice to the OWS group during the Thanksgiving Family Forum in Des Moines, Iowa. Gingrich said, “go get a job after you take a bath.” This upset Mika Brzezinski from MSNBC’s Morning Joe show. Brzezinski asks, “He’s telling the 99% to take a bath and get a job? Really? Really, I wonder how they do that right now. How, given the state of this country, how anyone’s going to just get a job and take a bath? Who is this man? Who does he think he is?” She was on the edge of hysteria at times during her tirade. It seemed like a reasonable suggestion to start with taking a bath, and maybe they could get employment, but Brzezinski doesn’t believe that Gingrich, a 1%er, should be allowed to say such things about these victims of society.

Newt Gingrich Was Right About The Super Committee

Newt Gingrich has released a new ad with clips from the August 11th presidential debate in Iowa that has him saying, “I think this Super Committee is about as dumb an idea as Washington has come up with in my lifetime.” Here is the whole transcript of what Gingrich had to say about the Super Committee:

I used to run the House of Representatives, I have some general notion of these things. The idea that 523 senators and congressman are going to sit around for 4 months while 12 brilliant people — mostly picked for political reasons — are going to sit in some room and brilliantly come up with $1 trillion, or force us to choose between gutting our military and accepting a tax increase is irrational.

They’re going to walk in just before Thanksgiving and say ‘Alright, we can shoot you in the head or cut off your right leg, which do you prefer?’

What they oughta do is scrap the committee right now, recognize it’s a dumb idea, go back to regular legislative business, assign every subcommittee the task of finding savings, do it out in the open through regular legislative order, and get rid of this secret phony business.
