Maxine Waters Proposes A Trillion Dollar Program To Save The Economy

Maxine Waters (D-Calf) took the time off yesterday to visit ‘Meet The Press’ and proposed an idea to fix the stagnant economy. She thinks President Obama should go big. “I’m talking about a jobs program of a trillion dollars or more. We’ve got to put Americans to work. That’s the only way to revitalize this economy. When people work they earn money, they spend that money, and that’s what gets the economy up and going,” Waters said. I would suggest she forget the whole job part and just give money away. During the last Obama stimulus program she was able to transfer a million dollars of tarp funds towards her husbands bank. She is currently under investigation for that stunt. Since it worked out so nice for her and her family, Waters is interested in trying an even bigger package. Is this the best the Democratic party can come up with? More failed stimulus packages?

Dinner And A Community Organizing Lesson From President Obama

President Obama sat down for a dinner with “six of the campaign’s summer organizers to thank them for their work and share some of the lessons he learned when he was a first-time community organizer himself.” According to a letter from his campaign, “He made the time because organizing is at the heart of this movement. It’s how we’re building our operation from the ground up over the next 14 months.” They see Labor Day as “the moment when the race for the Republican nomination will really heat up.” Because of this they need more community organizers roaming the streets pushing the Obama agenda for 2012. Sarah Palin Visits A Tea Party Rally

Sarah Palin was the key note speaker at the Tea Party Rally in Indianola, Iowa. Many thought she would use this as an opportunity to announce her intentions to run for the presidency but instead she said what brought them together was, “a love of country. And we see that America is hurting. We’re not willing to just sit back and watch her demise through some “fundamental transformation” of the greatest country on earth. We’re here to stop that transformation and to begin the restoration of the country that we love.” According to Palin the economy is not bad all over. “Yeah, the permanent political class – they’re doing just fine. Ever notice how so many of them arrive in Washington, D.C. of modest means and then miraculously throughout the years they end up becoming very, very wealthy? Well, it’s because they derive power and their wealth from their access to our money – to taxpayer dollars. They use it to bail out their friends on Wall Street and their corporate cronies, and to reward campaign contributors, and to buy votes via earmarks. There is so much waste. And there is a name for this: It’s called corporate crony capitalism. This is not the capitalism of free men and free markets, of innovation and hard work and ethics, of sacrifice and of risk. No, this is the capitalism of connections and government bailouts and handouts, of waste and influence peddling and corporate welfare. This is the crony capitalism that destroyed Europe’s economies.” Palin said we need real change, not that change stuff Barack Obama was talking about 3 years ago. Palin said, “, this is why we must remember that the challenge is not simply to replace Obama in 2012. The real challenge is who and what we will replace him with. It’s not enough to just change up the uniform. If we don’t change the team and the game plan, we won’t save our country.”

Jon Huntsman Has Been There Done That

Jon Huntsman was on with Greta Van Susteren to talk about a Wall Street Journal editorial that endorses Huntsman’s economic plan. According to the editorial, “Mr. Huntsman’s proposal is as impressive as any to date in the GOP presidential field and certainly better than what we’ve seen from the frontrunners. Perhaps Mr. Huntsman should be asked to give the Republican response to the president’s jobs speech next week.” Huntsman explained his plan to Greta saying his plan, “draws heavily from what we did in the State of Utah. So as a candidate for the presidency of the United States of America, all I want to be able to do is say, I have been there and I have done that. We reformed our tax code. We flattened the rate. We basically made it a whole lot more competitive in our state, and that’s exactly what we want to do for this country of ours.”

GOP Weekly Address 9/3/2011

From the Republicans; “Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) delivers the Weekly Republican Address, focusing on working toward a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It’s common sense that our government should live within its means and the only way to permanently force the federal government to do this is to pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. The future of our country and economic prosperity depend on it.”

Roger Williams is running to represent Texas in Congress and has released one of the funniest campaign ads of the current campaign season.
