It’s Time For Obama To Get Us Out Of The Cul-de-sac

House Speaker John Boehner spoke at a press conference today about the debt ceiling and the negotiations. According to Boehner, “Today’s vote on the House floor indicates there’s bipartisan opposition to Senator Reid’s proposal. The House yesterday sent our second bill to end this crisis to the Senate. It’s a reasonable, responsible approach that will end this crisis, get our economy moving again and get Americans back to work.
“The only thing standing in the way of the House proposal over in the Senate is the president and Senator Reid. It’s time for them to tell us what they’re for, time to tell us how they’re going to get us out of the cul-de-sac that they’ve driven our country into. So we’re hoping that we’ll hear from them soon about their plan for how we end this crisis.”

More Of Obama’s Leadership Failures

Americans For Prosperity have a new ad out about Obama’s leadership failures. According to them, “Since President Obama took office the national debt is up 35% and unemployment is up 18%, yet he opposes real reforms that would get spending under control and our economy moving again. It is time to lead. Tell President Obama to put America’s needs ahead of partisan politics.”

President Obama Calls The Debt Crisis Urgent

President Obama spoke before the press this morning (7/29/2011) to add nothing new to the debate. He urged the Senate and House to get together so he can sign something by Tuesday. We could lose out countries AAA credit rating because we don’t have AAA political leaders according to Obama. I am sure he is including himself in that group. Obama says that raising the debt ceiling allows us to pay bills we have already “racked up.” He wants the people to get a hold of their representatives through phone calls, emails, and twitter, because time is running out. I would recommend that as well, and don’t forget to tell them we are tired of all their careless spendthrift ways.

The GOP Is Putting A Gun To Heads Of Millions Of People

Van Jones, who used to be the Greens Czar for President Obama but had to step down due to some controversial stuff he had said, was attending a rally yesterday in front of the Capital building. He was there with a group called Rebuild the Dream, to counter the Tea Party movement. According to Jones, “We are here because America doesn’t bow down to hostage taking tactics.” “America does not have a deficit because we helped grandma to much. We are not in a deficit because of social security, medicare, or medicaid. We are in a deficit because of the Bush tax cuts, and the Bush wars,” according to Jones. Jones said, “Any faction in America that would put a gun to the head of 310 million people and say ‘If you don’t do it our way, we will blow your dreams away, we will blow a hole in the American economy’, that is un-American. That is not how we do business, and we refuse to bow down to those tactics.” He was asked to explain that statement and Jones said, “the Tea Party is saying if they don’t get their way, they will refuse to have America pay their bills. If American becomes a deadbeat nation, we are finished as a first rate power.”
He goes on repeating the same metaphorical words over and over with the same theme. The GOP are holding guns on the American people while taking them hostage. It’s all Bush’s fault, and they are picking on grandma.

We Are Bankrupt According To Ron Paul

Ron Paul was on Fox News once again trying to explain the debt crisis. According to Paul we are going to default regardless of what Washington DC does. We have two choices, default by inflation which is what will happen when we raise the debt ceiling again, or we could default by simply not raising the debt ceiling. Paul explains that the dollar is losing ground while gold prices are skyrocketing. “Default is coming. The only argument that’s going on now is how to default, not send the checks out or just print the money. In all countries our size, they always print the money,” Paul said. “They’re going to raise the debt limit, and then they’re going to print the money, and then they’ll default by inflation, and that’s much more dangerous than facing up to the facts of what’s happening today.” Paul adds, “I think both sides are failing to understand that this country is bankrupt. There will be a default. The only debate that is going on is how you default and I vote for stopping the spending so we don’t have to print all the money.” So basically, this is all political theater and we the people are going to face the consequences of higher prices everywhere because of this lack of leadership we have elected to run our country.

McCain Calls Those That Support A Balanced Budget Bizarro

John McCain spoke on the floor today about the debt crisis. McCain said, “That is not fair, that is not fair to the American people. To hold out and say we won’t agree to raising the debt until we pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. It’s unfair, it’s bizarro.”
