Delivering the Weekly Republican Address, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) notes that the House has acted to avert the entire fiscal cliff, and President Obama and his Democratic-controlled Senate now must do the same. “We will continue to work with our colleagues in the Congress and the White House on a plan that protects families and small businesses,” Boehner says, before wishing all Americans a Merry Christmas. Boehner says, “the president has offered so far simply won’t do anything to solve our spending problem and begin to address our nation’s crippling debt. Instead, he wants more spending and more tax hikes that will hurt our economy. And he refuses to challenge the members of his party to deal honestly with entitlement reform and the big issues facing our nation. That is why we find ourselves here today.”

During the election in 2008 candidate Joe Biden warned us Barack Obama would try to take our guns from us, and now he is in charge of President Obama’s new committee on gun control. “I guarantee you Barack Obama ain’t taking my shotguns, so don’t buy that malarkey,” Biden said at a campaign event in Virginia on September 20, 2008. “Don’t buy that malarkey. They’re going to start peddling that to you.” “If he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem,” Biden added.

The ad attacks President Obama over his fiscal cliff position. “So far, a huge tax increase is his solution,” the ad says. “No real spending reforms. Instead more taxes.
