Richmond Times-Dispatch Calls Obama Welfare Reform Nuts

According to Mitt Romney’s campaign, “last month, President Obama quietly gutted bipartisan welfare reform by ending the work requirement. One of the country’s leading newspapers called it “nuts.” Mitt Romney will put work back in welfare.” The campaign highlights an editorial in the Richmond Times-Dispatch in their latest campaign ad that says, “if you want to get more people to work, you don’t loosen the requirements, you tighten them.”

President Obama Pushes For Wind Energy In Iowa

President Obama has been on a three day bus tour of Iowa, and in Oskaloosa, he shared how the wind energy industry has become an even bigger source of jobs. In Iowa alone, 20% of the state’s electricity now comes from the wind. Obama told the crowd in Oskaloosa, “The wind industry now supports 7,000 jobs here in Iowa–75,000 jobs across the country. These jobs aren’t a fad, these are good jobs, and a source of pride that we need to fight for. And if Governor Romney understood what you’ve been doing he’d know that we’d used to have to import most of the parts that were used for wind turbines. They’re now being made here in America, by American workers, in American factories.”

Obama Dodges Question On Rising Health Care Costs For Military

During an interview with WVEC-TV in Norfolk, Virginia, President Obama avoided answering a question about the rising cost for TRICARE for our returning veterans.

Reporter: Speaking of benefits, sir, we went forward a little bit. Could we talk about TRICARE?

President Obama: Sure.

Reporter: Talking about our retirees and our future veterans. A lot of concern about higher enrollment fees may be on the way. Higher co-pays for prescriptions. Higher deductibles. Is that breaking faith with people who served? Volunteered to serve.

Obama: Obviously, I’ve been working very closely with our military in terms of how we deal with it, the health care situation. This is a rising cost in all institutions, but it is also a rising cost in our military. We spent about $50 billion just on health care costs. What I can assure you is, we’re never going to have a situation in which our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsman, they are not getting high quality care. And, you know, we’ll have to work through this budget process to figure out how do we, first of all, make the the health care system overall more efficient — how [do] we also make it more efficient for those who have served our country.

When Will President Obama Face Some Serious Questions And Answer Back In Any Language

It has been over eight weeks since President Obama has faced the regular press, but meanwhile he has time for “Entertainment Tonight” and radio interviews on hot chilli peppers. The RNC says, “with unemployment going up in 44 of 50 states, this is nothing short of embarrassing.” “Americans are hurting all over this country because of President Obama’s weak economy and the president continues to hide from the tough questions in favor of softball interview questions,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “It’s been over eight weeks since President Obama has answered important questions about everything from unemployment to Medicare and the tone of the campaign. Unemployment just went up in 44 of 50 states. Someone should inform Obama that struggling middle class families all over the country need a serious president who’s willing to lead on the tough challenges and turn things around, not a pop culture commentator.”
