GOP Weekly Address 8/19/2012 The House Has Tried To Jump Start The Economy

Representative Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) delivers this week’s address on the House’s efforts to jump start our nation’s sluggish economy. Republicans in the House have stopped a small business tax hike scheduled for January 1st, passed more than 30 jobs bills that eliminate excessive red tape, empower small businesses, and approve the Keystone XL pipeline. In addition, they have also passed a budget that fixes our dysfunctional tax code, pays down our debt, and strengthens Medicare. And while our nation’s suffers under a historic drought, the House has passed a measure that will help devastated farmers during this time. House Republicans have acted. Senate Democrats and the president must do the same.

President Obama’s Weekly Address 8/18/2012 Education Is An Economic Necessity Every Family Should Be Able To Afford

From the White House; “With students starting to head back to school, President Obama discusses the critical role that education plays in America’s future.” Obama tells us, “this year, several thousand fewer educators will be going back to school. Since 2009, we’ve lost more than 300,000 education jobs, in part, because of budget cuts at the state and local level.” “That’s the opposite of what we should be doing as a country. States should be making education a priority in their budgets, even in tough fiscal times. And Congress should be willing to help out, because this affects all of us,” President Obama says. “That’s why part of the jobs bill that I sent to Congress last September included support for states to prevent further layoffs and to rehire teachers who’d lost their jobs. But here we are, a year later with tens of thousands more educators laid off, and Congress still hasn’t done anything about it.” Obama explains all that his administration has tried to do on behalf of education explaining, “because in America, higher education cannot be a luxury; it’s an economic necessity every family should be able to afford.”

Ex-Navy Seals Slam President Obama For Leaks On Osama bin Laden In Video

A group of former special forces officers accuse President Obama of taking too much credit for Osama bin Laden’s death. Here is a CNN report on the video;

And here is the 22 minute video “Dishonorable Disclosures” from Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund;

Intelligence and Special Operations forces are furious and frustrated at how President Obama and those in positions of authority have exploited their service for political advantage. Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk.

The unwarranted and dangerous public disclosure of Special Forces Operations is so serious — that for the first time ever — former operators have agreed to risk their reputations and go ‘on the record’ in a special documentary titled “Dishonorable Disclosures.” Its goal is to educate America about serious breaches of security and prevent them from ever happening again.

The non-partisan AARP says Obamacare ‘cracks down on Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse’ and ‘strengthens guaranteed benefits’.

AARP says it would undermine … Medicare and could lead to higher costs for seniors….
And experts say Ryan’s voucher plan could raise future retirees’ costs more than six thousand dollars.”

Mitt Romney Says He’s Paid At Least 13 Percent Tax Rate Each Year

Mitt Romney said yesterday that he has paid at least 13% on taxes for the last 10 years. He also claims if you add in charity that he has paid out over 20% each year. Fact is, he paid more in one year in taxes than most of us even dream of making in a life time. “But I did go back and look at my taxes and over the past 10 years I never paid less than 13 percent. I think the most recent year is 13.6 or something like that. So I paid taxes every single year. Harry Reid’s charge is totally false.”
