From the White House; “President Obama discusses legislation he signed on Friday that does two important things: It keeps thousands of construction workers on the job rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and it stops interest rates on federal loans from doubling this year for more than seven million students.” President Obama wants to use money set aside for warring to build up America saying, “for months, I’ve been calling on Congress to take half the money we’re no longer spending on war and use it to do some nation-building here at home. There’s work to be done building roads and bridges and wireless networks. And there are hundreds of thousands of construction workers ready to do it.”

The RNC have a new web video out that points out the hypocrisy on debt with both President Obama and V.P. Biden. “There is a Grand Canyon size ‘promise gap’ between what Vice President Biden said about spending the last time he was in Maumee, Ohio and what he and President Obama have actually done in office,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “America needs Governor Romney who has a record of turning deficits into surpluses and knows what it means to make a payroll. We need to send him to Washington to get our spending under control and country back on track.”

President Obama Attacks Mitt Romney For Having Overseas Bank Accounts

The Obama campaign is now attacking Mitt Romney because he has investments and bank accounts outside of the USA. According to the Obama campaign, “Vanity Fair and the Associated Press have reported that Mitt Romney has put huge sums of money into investments in offshore tax havens like the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Is he avoiding paying U.S. taxes by having money in those tax havens? Was he trying to hedge against the dollar by having a Swiss bank account? We asked some ordinary Americans what they think of Mitt Romney’s financial arrangements.”

MSNBC Host Talks Of Imperialism And Slavery For Our White Independence Day

MSNBC host, Melissa Harris Perry used her show to celebrate the 4th of July by talking about slavery and American imperialism. She starts by saying the Founding Fathers probably did this for profits. They were “embarrassingly imperfect.” She then says the country was built on the the back of slavery, forgetting all others that sacrificed for this country. “But all of this is our story,” she continued. “Each of us benefits from the residuals of oppression and each of us is harmed by the realities of inequality. This is the imperfect fabric of our nation, at times we’ve torn and stained it, and at other moments, we mend and repair it. But it’s ours, all of it: The imperialism, the genocide, the slavery, also the liberation and the hope and the deeply American belief that our best days still lie ahead of us.” This theme was expressed further all over Twitter yesterday including, and not limited to, Chris Rock who tweeted, “Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed fireworks.”

Mitt Romney’s companies were pioneers in outsourcing US jobs to low-wage countries. He supports tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. President Obama believes in insourcing. He fought to save the US auto industry, and favors tax cuts for companies that bring jobs home. Outsourcing versus insourcing. It matters.”
