President Obama Says Mitt Romney Is A Guy With A Swiss Bank Account

The latest campaign ad from the Obama campaign attacks Mitt Romney for having a Swiss bank account. “Just what you would expect from a guy that has a Swiss bank account.” According to the campaign, “‘Swiss Bank Account’ highlights Mitt Romney’s belief that a strong economy is built on outsourcing, loopholes and risky financial deals. As a corporate CEO, he shipped American jobs to places like Mexico and China. As governor, Romney outsourced state jobs to India, and now as a candidate for president he is pushing tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.”
“Romney’s economic scheme stands in stark contrast with President Obama’s efforts to continue moving the country forward by rebuilding an economy that’s meant to last, by out-building, out-innovating and out-educating the rest of the world, and making the things the rest of the world buys by closing loopholes and providing incentives that are bringing jobs back to America.”

Classic Presidential Ad Bill Clinton Attacks Read My Lips 1992

In this campaign ad from 1992, candidate Bill Clinton attacks President George H. W. Bush for his promise “read my lips. No new taxes.” He made that promise during his 1988 acceptance speech, but keeping this promise was hard since he had to deal with a democratic controlled House and Senate. Bush eventually agreed to a compromise with Congressional Democrats to raise several taxes as part of a 1990 budget agreement. During the 1992 campaign Pat Buchanan made extensive use of the phrase in his strong challenge to Bush in the Republican primaries. The democratic challenger Bill Clinton used the promise to prove that Bush was not trustworthy in this ad. It was later felt that his failure to keep this promise led to the defeat of President Bush to Clinton.

President Obama Suggests That Mitt Romney Would Not Have Killed Osama Bin Laden

At a press conference with the Prime Minister of Japan President Obama was asked about “excessive celebration” on the anniversary of the killing of Osama Bin Laden. During his answer he suggested that Mitt Romney wouldn’t have made the same call on the killing of bin Laden. “I’d just recommend that everybody take a look at people’s previous statements in terms of whether they thought it was appropriate to go into Pakistan and to take out bin Laden,” Obama said, clearly referring to Romney. “I assume that people meant what they said when they said it. And that’s been at least my practice. I said that I would go after bin Laden if we had a clear shot at him–and I did. If there are others who have said one thing and now suggest they would do something else, then I’d go ahead and let them explain it.”

Last Call On Obama Clooney And You

According to President Obama, “Last call: You and a date could be George Clooney’s guests when he hosts the President next month–but only if you enter today. Tag your +1 in the comments for a little extra motivation: Last Call For Obama Clooney and You.” President Obama sent a letter to supporters asking for as little as 3$ to join him and George Clooney for dinner.

Friend —

In a few days, I’ll be hitting the trail for my last campaign.

Everything we’ve accomplished in the past three years — and our chance to do so much more — is on the line.

What we do today will be a measure of whether or not we’re ready to fight for it.

Donate $3 or whatever you can before tonight’s fundraising deadline.

By pitching in before midnight, you’ll automatically be in the running to join me and George Clooney at his place on May 10th.

It’s not often I can get away from work, so I look forward to spending a fun evening in L.A. with a couple supporters like you.

In the meantime, let’s close out this deadline strong:
