James Clyburn Says President Obama Should Run Against The Supreme Court

Representative James Clyburn (SC-D) went on the “Morning Joe” and said President Obama should run against the Supreme Court if Obamacare gets overturned. “I think the president ought to take a look at what [has happened] in years before. We’ve seen presidents run against Congress and we’ve seen presidents run against the Supreme Court. Franklin Roosevelt did it to the Supreme Court, Truman did it to the Congress,” Clyburn said. “I think the president will take a look at exactly what he needs to do to connect with the American people, let them know that he’s done everything he can possibly do and ask them to give him a mandate for the years going forward.” If Obamacare gets turned down then we need four more years of Obama to try again.

Nine Dollar A Gallon Gas Coming To A Station Near You

The American Energy Alliance have put out an ad that says we have $9.00 a gallon gas coming soon. According to AEA, “President Obama and his administration are intentionally boosting the price of gas by restricting access to Americas natural resources. We have enough oil to fuel our economy for the next 200 years.” They try to correct some of the myths being spread by President Obama. Including when he said, “As a country that has 2 percent of the world’s oil reserves, but uses 20 percent of the world’s oil … what that means is, as much as we’re doing to increase oil production, we’re not going to be able to just drill our way out of the problem of high gas prices.” The AEA says, “When President Obama’s says that the U.S. only has 2 percent of the world’s oil reserves, he is only talking about a small portion of our oil resources—reserves that have already been discovered through actual exploration or drilling and can be recovered economically. But that isn’t all of the oil we have or all of the oil we could extract with today’s technology. According to government data, the United States has 1,442 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil—enough to last 200 years.” The AEA goes after other myths including the “silver bullet” one from President Obama when he says, “There is no such thing as a quick fix when it comes to high gas prices. There’s no silver bullet.” The AEA points out that “when President Bush lifted the executive moratorium on drilling in most of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). The price of oil fell over $9 per barrel almost immediately after the announcement. It fell further when Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Congress would allow the congressional moratorium on offshore drilling to expire, as well. Ebbs and flows in oil futures prices occur as markets attempt to anticipate what future supply and demand might look like for a global commodity like oil, and much of this access to resources hinges on the decisions of policymakers and world leaders.” AEA has attracted enough attention with this ad that President Obama’s Attack Watch have devoted a page to them called, “Big Oil launches a misleading ad campaign about the President’s energy record.” Here is the 30 second ad “Nine Dollar Gas” from the American Energy Alliance;

There Is No Way President Obama Can Lose The Black Vote According To Van Jones

Van Jones was on MSNBC and asked if President Obama could lose some of the black vote if he came out for gay marriages. According to Van Jones there is nothing he could do to lose the black vote. “I think if President Obama came out as gay, he wouldn’t lose the black vote,” Jones said laughing. He then added, “President Obama is not going to lose the black vote no matter what he does.” So the bottom line is, politics do not matter to the black voter?

President Obama Holds Press Conference And Takes Shot At Supreme Court

President Obama holds a press conference with President Felipe Calderon of Mexico and Prime Minster Stephen Harper of Canada, and the talk turned to the Supreme Court and the likely hood that they may turn down his signature achievement, Obamacare. President Obama said, “I am confident the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically-elected congress,” President Obama said at a White House event in the Rose Garden. “And I’d just remind conservative commentators that, for years, what we have heard is, the biggest problem on the bench was judicial activism, or a lack of judicial restraint, that an unelected group of people would somehow overturn a duly constituted and passed law,” Obama said. “Well, this is a good example, and I’m pretty confident that this court will recognize that and not take that step,” he said. “As I said, we are confident this will be over — this will be upheld. I am confident this will be upheld because it should be upheld. And again, that is not just my opinion. That is the opinion of a whole lot of constitutional law professors and academics and judges and lawyers who have examined this law, even if they’re not particularly sympathetic to this piece of legislation or my presidency,” he added. He has made it clear that if they do strike it down he would address that during the campaign.
