VoteVets and Wesley Clark have unveiled their second ad aimed at President Bush and Congress. The first ad featuring retired Major General John Batiste was well received and was even featured in a Sunday New York Times story. The second ad features retired Major General Paul Eaton, and starts airing today. Eaton also takes on the view that Bush was not listening to the commanders on the ground. He should know, since he just retired with 33 years service. His most recent operational assignment was Commanding General of the command charged with reestablishing Iraqi Security Forces from 2003-2004, where he built the command and established the structure and infrastructure for the Iraqi Armed Forces. These ads are targeted at specific areas. This ad is aimed at the states and districts of Senators Susan Collins and John Warner and Representatives Mary Bono, Mike Castle, Phil English, Jo Ann Emerson, Tim Johnson, and Heather Wilson. The first ad must have worked a bit, because 4 of the “gang of 11” that visited President Bush last week to tell him they are breaking with his strategy were targets of the first ad. The next ad will feature Presidential candidate Wesley Clark.
