Bush, Hey Democrats What’s Your Plan? Because I’m The Decision Maker Here.

President Bush, The Decider, is now also The Decision Maker. Bush declared at a meeting with senior military leaders that, “I know there is skepticism and pessimism and that some are condemning a plan before it’s even had a chance to work,” the president said. “They have an obligation and a serious responsibility therefore to put up their own plan as to what would work.” Even though some members of Congress have come up with alternative plans, like get out, Bush has ignored all of their advice. Instead he has plowed on with this same ole losing stategy. He consults with Congress, but doesn’t listen to what they have to say, and then claims they have nothing new to offer.. And once again if they can’t agree with the President then they seem to “embolden the enemy” as the new US Defence Secretary Robert Gates has suggested Congressional resolutions opposing Mr Bush’s troops plan “emboldens the enemy”. President Bush also said that he had authorized US forces in Iraq to target Iranian agents there. “If somebody’s trying to harm our troops, or stop us from achieving our goal, or killing innocent citizens in Iraq, we will stop them,” Bush said. They call it the “capture or kill policy”, which is specifically aimed at Iranians in Iraq. This seems to many to just be another step to try to move the war past the borders into Iran. By adopting this more confrontational stance with Iran, Bush is rejecting another idea from the Iraq Study Group that encourages diplomacy with Iran to help quell secretarian violence in Iraq. Why talk with Iran, they are just another part of “the evil empire”? It would be better to just kill them. This public warning to Iran was accompanied by the deployment of an additional aircraft carrier off Iran’s coast and advanced Patriot antimissile defense systems in Persian Gulf countries near Iran’s borders. Both the White House and the secretary of defense, Robert M. Gates, insisted Friday that the United States was not seeking to goad Iran into conflict, and that it had no intention of taking the battle into Iranian territory. The White House spokesman, Tony Snow, tried to steer reporters away from “an urban legend that’s going around” that Mr. Bush was “trying to prepare the way for war” with Iran or Syria. A report in the LA Times earlier this week, found that there was scant evidence of Iran-Iraq arms link, which is the basis for this latest buildup against the Iranians. We are adding 20,000 troops into the battle, and instigating more retaliatory attacks from Iranians. Seems like an escalation to me. Is that how you “win” in Iraq? The polls all suggest that “The Decider” has not been making wise decisions. And “The Decision Maker” doesn’t seem to listen to anyone anyway. It’s Bush’s way, or the highway. Well now I think we are all on Bush’s highway to hell, and driving in the fast lane. It is time to stop, and get another driver.
