Mike Huckabee Takes On The Gay Community

Mike Huckabee is taking heat from the gay community over recent comments he made in an interview with the religious web site Beliefnet. During the interview Huckabee seems to equate gay marriages with bestiality. “I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal,” Huckabee said in the interview. “Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again.” He is right, that would be a radical change, but no one is asking for all that. They simply want two people, any two people to be allowed to be legally married. Nobody is lobbying for any of that other stuff, and it doesn’t belong in the same sentence. It is just the politics of fear mongering and slippery slope. This really isn’t news, since gays are highly unlikely to vote for Huckabee. And, it is not surprising that Huckabee would say something like this. He is a Baptist minister that preaches hell and brimstone on a regular basis. Huckabee has rightfully so decided not to comment on this matter.
