Gingrich Has A Plan For 2 Dollar A Gallon Gas Again

Newt Gingrich was on with Greta Van Susteren last night talking about the campaign. Despite his poor showings lately he feels he still has a good chance, and he does have a plan. One of his plans would be to get some of Santorum’s supporters after Mitt Romney starts in with his negative ads. Gingrich says his, “prediction is that if Mitt Romney goes and attacks Santorum as negatively as he attacked me in Florida and elsewhere, that what you’re going to see is he’ll peel votes off Santorum, but they’re going to come to me. They’re not going to go to Romney. This is the challenge Governor Romney has, is he — he really has sort of a three-part contest. He has, you know, Congressman Ron Paul, who’s done very, very well in Maine, virtually tied him. He has Rick Santorum, who did very well last week. And I’ve done pretty well against him in — I came in second in Florida and in Nevada. And I came in first in South Carolina. And at some point, it’s going to sink in to people, if all Governor Romney has is negative campaigning, where’s his positive message?” Gingrich also offers his plan to bring the price of gas down to $2 a gallon again. He would start by opening up the Keystone pipeline immediately. He feels he is offering the people a positive leadership choice over Romney’s negative ads. He says the “people want positive, issue-orientated leadership. They don’t just want somebody with a deep pocket of Wall Street money running negative ads.”

President Obama Touts Changes In Internet, Making Life Easier For Us

President Obama was asked about the “fundamental changes” he campaigned about in 2008 during a recent interview on WFLA, a local news affiliate in Tampa. President Obama said he “has made a lot of progress” in making the government internet easier to navigate for people. “We’ve used the Internet more effectively to create more transparency so people know where their tax dollars are going. If they need a government service they don’t have to navigate through 50 websites, they can go to one website. So on those fronts we’ve done a lot, we’ve made a lot of progress,” Obama said. Then he admitted, “Where I have not been able to succeed so far, but I haven’t given up, is changing the tone in Congress, and creating an attitude between Democrats and Republicans where we focus on where do we agree, where are common sense solutions, lets stop trying to score political points or play to the next election instead of playing the long game. We haven’t been able to do that yet, and I am the first one to acknowledge that there are times where it can be awfully frustrating. But what gives me confidence is that’s where the American people are, they’ve got common sense. They’re focused on trying to find solutions instead of just scoring political points and hopefully, over time, politicians who take that same attitude will be rewarded.”

Why Your Voice Matters To President Obama

From the White House; “In December we asked Americans to tell us what losing $40 per paycheck would mean to them and their families if Congress did not extend the payroll tax cut. On Feb. 14, some of the people who shared their stories came to the White House to hear President Obama speak and took a moment to encourage other Americans to speak out on this important issue.”

Rick Santorum Calls Obama Administration Elite Snobs

Rick Santorum was defending Representative Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan while in Boise, Idaho and started talking about the Obama administration. “President Obama and the Democratic National Committee have termed this plan as ‘throwing grandma off a cliff.’ Why? Why do they term it ‘throwing grandma off a cliff?’ Because you are incapable of freedom. Because they don’t believe that you can handle this. They don’t believe that you can make these decisions. They need to make these decisions for you because if you are left to make decisions, you will obviously jump off a cliff. Don’t you see how they see you, how they look down their nose at the average Americans? These elite snobs.”

Mitt Romney Is Not Sure What Sarah Palin Is Talking About

Mitt Romney stopped by to visit Fox and Friends this morning. 2/15/2012. Romney responded to a question about the Rick Santorum’s Rombo attack ad saying “that is nature of politics. You always accuse the other guy, of what you’ve done yourself. My campaign hasn’t run any negative campaign ads against Rick Santourm.” He is not counting any of those Restore Our Future attack ads that Newt Gingrich was so fond of. Romney was happy with the actor that played himself in the ad. He was also asked about Sarah Palin saying that she thought Romney may not be conservative enough. “Well we should probably spend some time with Sarah Palin, although she is hard to find. She’s on your show all the time,” Romney said. “I’m not quite sure what she’d be referring to. I’m pro-life, pro-traditional marriage. I believe in the second amendment. As governor, I balanced the budget every year I was in office. Put in place a $2 million rainy-day fund. Cut taxes 19 times,” he added.

Mitt Rombo Romney’s Ugly Attack Ads Will Backfire

Rick Santorum has a new ad out that features Mitt Romney as mud slinger Rombo. According to the ad, “Mitt Romney’s negative attack machine is back on full throttle. This time, Romney’s firing his mud at Rick Santorum. Romney and his super PAC have spent a staggering $20 million…mostly attacking fellow Republicans. Why? Because Romney’s trying to hide from his big-government RomneyCare and his support for job-killing cap and trade. And, in the end, Mitt Romney’s ugly attacks are going to backfire.” A clever and entertaining attack ad like this one is worthy of a couple of points in most fantasy leagues.
