GOP Weekly Address 5/17/2014 John McCain We Are Not Taking Care Of Our Veterans

In the Republican Weekly Address, Sen. John McCain of Arizona raises concerns with the Obama Administration’s response to recent allegations of gross mismanagement, fraud and neglect at a growing number of Veterans Administration medical centers across the country. “It’s been more than a month since allegations that some 40 veterans died while waiting for care at the Phoenix VA were first made public,” says Sen. McCain. “To date, the Obama Administration has failed to respond in an effective manner. This has created in our veterans’ community a crisis of confidence toward the VA — the very agency that was established to care for them. “Our veterans gave us their best. But it’s obvious that too often they’ve gotten the worst from those charged with their care. Our country doesn’t depend on the heroism of every citizen. But we must be worthy of the sacrifices that are made on our behalf. How we care for those who risked everything for us is the most important test of a nation’s character. Today, we are failing that test. We must do better tomorrow – much better.”

President Obama’s Weekly Address 5/17/2014 Plans On Doing What He Can To Create Jobs

In this week’s address, the President discusses actions to expand opportunity for more Americans, with or without the help of Republicans in Congress, including his Administration’s efforts to cut red tape for major transportation infrastructure projects. And in the coming days, the President will meet with business leaders to highlight the importance of bringing jobs back to America and will also discuss the economic benefits of making it easier for tourists to visit and spend money at attractions in the U.S., which in turn helps local businesses and grows the economy for everyone. “I want to work with Congress to create jobs and opportunity for more Americans. But where Congress won’t act, I will.”

Charlie Crist Claims The Racism In The Republican Party Made Him Switch To Democrat

Former Republican Governor Charlie Crist, who changed to Independent when the Republicans nominated Marco Rubio, and then to Democrat when he was beat by Rubio, now claims he changed parties because of all the racist in the republican party. During an interview Crist said, “I couldn’t be consistent with myself and my core beliefs, and stay with a party that was so unfriendly toward the African-American president, I’ll just go there. I was a Republican and I saw the activists and what they were doing, it was intolerable to me.” During the interview Crist described the Republicans to be, “perceived now as being anti-women, anti-immigrant, anti-minority, anti-gay, anti-education, anti-environment.” I think he forgot one more. They are anti-Crist too. His biggest chance at winning the governorship of Florida for a second go round is benefited by the pot vote that is expected to be on the ballot this year. This helps explain why his boss Morgan and Morgan is pushing so hard for legalization of medical marijuana.

Chuck Todd Says Obama White House Doesnt Have A Clue On How To Work With Congress

After almost 6 years of this administration MSNBC’s Chuck Todd finally fessed up to admit that President Obama’s White House does not know how to deal with Congress. On Morning Joe this morning Todd said, “they have no clue on how to deal with Congress. And I’ve talked to folks in there, and they don’t know. They can’t envision, I mean Mark is right, I think they have a theory, they just don’t know how to implement it. They don’t know how to put it through. They have no idea how they’re really going to get anything done in Congress, other then their whole theory this year is, well if Democrats hold the Senate, maybe there’s a whole bunch of stuff we could jam in the lame duck.”

President Obama’s Weekly Address 5/3/2014 This Is A Year Of Action to Get More Jobs

In this week’s address, the President provides an update on the work his Administration has done to strengthen the economy and expand opportunity for hardworking Americans in this Year of Action. After being in office for 6 years, and being “laser focused on creating jobs,” all that time President Obama is still focused on growing jobs. This year he has a new theme for this laser focus agenda called his “year of action.” According to Obama the reason we are still a bit stagnant in the job growth area is because of Republicans in Congress. “So far this year, Republicans in Congress have blocked or voted down every serious idea to create jobs and strengthen the middle class. They’ve said “no” to raising the minimum wage, “no” to equal pay for equal work, and “no” to restoring the unemployment insurance they let expire for more than two million Americans looking for a new job.” According to the President, “that’s why I’m going to take action on my own wherever I can. To grow our economy from the middle-out, not the top down. To give every American who works hard a chance to get ahead. That’s what this Year of Action is all about, and that’s what I’m going to keep fighting for.” He still has his pen and phone on ready.

Dude, That Was Like Two Years Ago What Difference Does It Make?

Fomer NSC Spokesman Tommy Vietor spoke to Brett Baier about Benghazi yesterday and at one point had a moment saying, “Dude, this was two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane thing.” To which Beier responded, “Dude, it’s what everybody is talking about.” I’m sure the whole administration would like to take Hillary’s road, and just ask “what difference does it make?” Unfortunately for them Benghazi may turn into a bigger cover up than Watergate, hiding a bigger gun running scheme than the Iran Contra affair all wound up in one big mess.

Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton Claims Iraq War Most Catastrophic in 20th Century

Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton referred to the war in Iraq as “perhaps the most catastrophic war of the 20th century by the United States of America.” She is the District of Columbia’s non-voting observer in Congress. The first problem with this is the Iraq war was started March of 2003, which is in the 21st century. But giving her the benefit of doubt, even if we included the Iraq war in the 20th century it would be far from the most catastrophic war of this century. I would call World War II or the Vietnam War far more catastrophic, but real history doesn’t matter when you are trying to push a political agenda. She did help create a new hashtag on twitter #eleanorholmesnortonhistory with a bunch of new history lessons from her fans.

Nancy Pelosi Wants To Talk About Something Besides Benghazi

“What I will say is, again, diversion subterfuge. Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. Why aren’t we talking about something else? Whatever was in that — what I know of what I have read in the press about the, um, those emails were very consistent with what was put out there. I don’t think there was anything new there,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Cali.) told reporters at her weekly press conference on Thursday.
