Jon Huntsman Tickles The Ivory For Obama

Presidential candidate Jon Huntsman played a little ditty on the keyboard in honor of his former boss President Obama yesterday (8/7/2011). Huntsman was joined by Tim Scott (R-SC) to to perform the classic “Hit The Road Jack” for Obama in an impromptu jam session. Huntsman was on the keyboard while Scott provided the vocals. Also included in the band was Daniel Crider drums, John Smith guitar, and Dan Henderson backing vocals. With all this talent in the Republican party they should have a jam session in Tampa for the convention in 2012. They have Jon Huntsman on keys, Thadeus McCotter playing lead guitar, and Mike Huckabee thumping the bass. All we need now is a drummer and front man to sing.

John Kerry And The Tea Party Downgrade

Senator John Kerry (D-Mass) showed up on ‘Meet The Press’ today to lay the blame for our economic mess right on the shoulders of the Tea Party. According to Kerry, “it’s a partial wake-up call. I believe this is, without question, the Tea Party downgrade. This is the Tea Party downgrade because a minority of people in the House of Representatives countered the will of many Republicans in the United States Senate who were prepared to do a bigger deal, to do $4.7 trillion, $4 trillion, have a mix of reductions and reforms in Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and realize we needed to do some revenue. I think this is one of the most telling, important moments in our country’s history right now. We have had a fairly straight forward economic road throughout the 20th century. Now, about a financial crisis and structure of our economy, which really has been misallocating capital. We have an enormous amount of capital going into arbitration these last years, phony deals, commissions, not making jobs. The real problem with our country is not the short-term debt. We can deal with that. It’s the long-term debt of Social Security, Medicare ad Medicaid measured against the demographics of our nation. That then juxtaposed to the lack of jobs and job creation and growth. That’s our problem, structural. And what we need is a Washington that stops this bickering.” Later in the interview Kerry takes a shot at Senator John Boehner accusing him of politicizing the downgrade to his advantage. Kerry said, “Let’s get rid of the hard positions that I noticed even in Speaker Boehner’s comments about the downgrade, politicizing it in the sense of sort of blaming it on the Democrats and lack of positions. Barack Obama put a $4.7 trillion deal on the table. Three times he was refused that deal! Because there were some people in the Republican Party, and Mitch McConnell even admitted this, who wanted to default. He said there were people in the party willing to shoot the hostage. In the end, they found the hostage was worth ransoming. It’s not about ransom. it’s about our nation, our country, statesmanship. I know John McCain and many of his colleagues in the Senate are willing to sit down and be serious about how to deal with this quickly. Our nation’s security and future is at stake.”

GOP Weekly Address 8/6/2011

From GOP; “Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) discusses the latest jobs report, which was a 9.1 percent unemployment rate for the month of July. It’s outrageous to go 30 consecutive months with national unemployment at or above 8 percent. The president’s ‘stimulus’ failed, and our nation needs jobs now more than ever. House Republicans passed the Budget Control Act to take our nation in the right direction. Now signed into law, it cuts spending more than the debt ceiling is raised, requires a Balanced Budget Amendment vote in the House and the Senate before the end of this year, and does not include any tax hikes. We must stop Washington’s reckless spending to foster an environment for America’s small businesses to grow and create jobs.”

John Kerry Wants You To Ignore The Tea Party

John Kerry made an appearance on The Morning Joe this morning 8/5/2011 to talk politics. We learned amongst other things that he doesn’t believe the Tea Party deserves to be heard. According to Kerry,

“we have to change the minds of those people in the House of Representatives who have appropriately focused on the deficit and the debt but who have completely inappropriately left out any kind of plans what so ever for how you grow jobs and grow America. I mean we literally I mean everybody’s talked about it, yes the Congress was taken hostage, the country, the economy was taken hostage. You had people there who were literally ready to cut the baby in half……. so we have to break that. And I have to tell you, I say this to you politely. The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it’s exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual. It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable, of who is not accountable, of who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t?”

I really enjoy the end of this video where they celebrate the job report with 9.1% unemployment. What cloud do these people live on?

Jimmy McMillan Evicted Off Of Presidential Idol

Jimmy “the rent is to damn high” McMillan was voted off of Presidential Idol for the month of July with less than 1% of the vote. That’s not all of McMillan’s problems cause he might also get evicted from his rent-controlled Manhattan apartment. He says the landlord wants him out because “my rent is too damn low.” McMillan still plans on running for the presidency in 2012, but his run on Presidential Idol is over. “Tell Obama I’m coming after his black ass,” McMillan said.
In a strange twist Ralph Nader won the month of June on Presidential Idol with 13.97% followed by Ron Paul with 13.82% and Mitt Romney with 10%. Everyone started fresh in August with Ron Paul currently leading the pack.

Here is a Jimmy McMillan music video promoting his candidacy. You can find his stuff on itunes.

Obama Isn’t Working Chicago

This is a new campaign ad from Mitt Romney that uses President Obama’s hometown Chicago as a backdrop, and President Obama’s own words as the transcript to use against him. Romney is putting out the best campaign ads of the season so far, and this is another good example of one his hard hitting ads.

The Word Of The Day Is Being Held Hostage

The Democrats have been going over their talking points and have decided that the word of the week will be “hostage.” They have described Tea Party members as racist and terrorist, but now they are hostage takers. President Obama first used the hostage metaphor in December of last year when talking about the Bush tax cuts. “I’ve said before that I felt that the middle class tax cuts were being held hostage to the high end tax cuts. I think it’s tempting not to negotiate with the hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed. Then people will question the wisdom of that strategy…In this case, the hostage was the American people and I was not willing to see them get harmed.” During the debt ceiling debate the Democrats started cranking the hostage metaphor out again on a regular basis and they are still using it today when discussing the FAA debate. They probably got to much slack for calling members of the voting public terrorists, so they have decided that hostage takers are nicer. They will at least give in when their demands are met, whereas terrorist just kill and terrorize people. If we get lucky some of those hostage takers will grab up Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Kerry, and maybe even Charlie Wrangle and try to get a ransom from the American public. It will turn out like “The Ransom Of Red Chief”, and hostage takers will pay us to take them back. We could solve the budget crisis that way.
