Obama Is Haunted By Vietnam

The Morning Joe had as guests this morning Marvin and Deborah Kalb to discuss their new book, “Haunting Legacy Vietnam and the American Presidency from Ford To Obama”. Kolb says that Vietnam affects the decision making of all Presidents when they go to war. “How do they begin to think about an exit strategy, and how do they begin to think about a clear mission statement.” These thoughts have never come to a President prior to Vietnam? Kolb thinks that “Vietnam has haunted Obama perhaps more than any other President, because Obama was 13 years old when the war ended.” It seems Obama wasn’t paying much attention to this issue at 13 because he didn’t learn anything. He has tripled the troops in Afghanistan. Kolb explains that “Vietnam represents a lost war”, and Presidents associated with lost wars lose elections so, therefore; Obama wants to win Afghanistan. Maybe a little history into the wars in Afghanistan would have better served Obama. Does anyone ever win there? I think it would be more correctly assumed that war is what haunts Presidents, not just any particular one. America’s history is filled with wars and Vietnam is not special in that respect. It just works in the Kolb’s little story line. Their assumption that Vietnam haunts President Obama so much is based in their adoration of Obama. He is perfect, therefore; he thinks in such logical ways. But if he was so perfect we wouldn’t be fighting in such a useless hellhole as Afghanistan. How has Vietnam helped Obama establish his mission statement, or his clear exit strategy? He has neither at this point in the game, so I call bullshit on this one.

Mitt Romney Is Ready To Take China To The Mat

During Obama’s election he promised to take China to the mat. He claimed he would stop copyright infringements and promote an environment to let American companies grow. Mitt Romney says, “Four years ago, President Obama promised to take China to the mat. Promising to create jobs by opening markets like China. We need a president who will fight for American workers.” According to Romney he will, or as he says, “yes. we. do.”

Sarah Palin On The Obama Drama Fear Mongering

Sarah Palin was on “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” last night (7/26/2011) to discuss the debt crisis. Palin calls the August 2nd deadline just some more “Obama drama” that he is creating. She says the American public is tired of the games and want solutions. She calls Obama’s speeches fear mongering, and claims he is getting good at it.

Look at President Obama. When he was a senator, he said he didn’t think that raising taxes during a bad economy was a good idea. Now he thinks it’s a good idea. He said, too, that raising the debt ceiling back then was a bad idea and it was a reflection of poor leadership. Well, now he wants to raise the debt ceiling and incur more debt, Greta.
And this is the problem. Let me go back to President Obama and what his problem is. He doesn’t understand that we have a spending problem in this country. And you know, back in the day, we used to hear that, “Hey, it’s the economy stupid.” Well, now, simply put, it’s the spending, stupid! What’s going on now with our bloated, overreaching, fat, nauseating spending from federal government, taking more state and individual control from Americans and trying to do it all on a federal level, which is creating this bankrupt situation that we’re facing now!
It’s immoral. It’s unethical. It doesn’t make any sense economically, or as I say, morally, because we’re handing these bills to our children and our grandchildren.
President Obama does not know what he is doing when we asked him to lead us out of this situation that we’re facing with bankruptcy! He’s exacerbating the problem! He’s making it worse by wanting to incur more debt, grow government and not presenting any kind of plan to the American people to show us what he really believes the solution is!

That’s So Gay Live With Fred Karger

Republican presidential candidate Fred Karger did a fundraiser at the famous “Witch House” in Beverly Hills, California. That’s So Gay Live caught up with Karger before the fundraiser to grab a quick interview. Karger said he wanted to do three things. First he wants to “bring the American spirit back to the country that we are lacking right now.” He wants the republicans and democrats to get along. Second he thinks the republican party “has gone way to far to the right.” and he wants to be a voice of moderation. “And thirdly as the first openly gay candidate for president,” he wants show that you “can do anything you want if you are gay.” They also talked about jobs, and he suggested government help. Karger even mentioned we could “lower the voting age to 16 or 17,” so politicians like him can engage them in high school to get them into the voting booth. They also talked about Karger’s web site, Let Fred In!, that he set up because he hasn’t been invited into the GOP debates so far.
Karger’s fundraiser was the second this week and he has raised about $260.000 so far. That is more than the two time New Mexico Governor, Gary Johnson, has raised so far and almost half as much as former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. Karger seems to focus most of his campaign attention towards the state of New Hampshire.
