Boehner Claims Obama Is More Concerned With Re-Election Than Debt Ceilings

From House Speaker Boehner; “Speaker Boehner appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace this morning (7/24/2011) to discuss President Obama’s request for an increase in the national debt limit and congressional efforts to ensure such an increase is not granted without spending reforms and cuts greater than any hike. Boehner said any agreement must adhere to the principles of the House-passed “Cut, Cap, and Balance” bill (where spending cuts and reforms exceed any debt limit increase; the cause of a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution is advanced; and there are no tax hikes), and that when it comes to the president’s reluctance to accept a two-step approach to cutting spending and increasing the debt limit, the President should put the interests of our country before his presidential re-election prospects.”

Obama May Face A Challenger From The Left According To Bernie Sanders

Senator Bernie Sanders, an Independent from Vermont, was answering questions with liberal talker Thom Hartmann. A phone questioner asked Sanders if he has talked to anyone interested in giving President Obama a primary challenge. Sanders responded, “Well, at this point I have not. But I am now giving thought to doing it. You know, I think you know the names out there as well as I do. And I think the American people have got to be engaged. It’s not just me or anybody else here in Washington. There are a lot of smart honest progressive people who I think can be good presidents.” Sanders even hinted he could be one of those challengers by adding, “this is an issue, yea I am, we are beginning to talk about a little bit.”

Tim Pawlenty Asks; Is Obama Chicken?

Tim Pawlenty made an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union show. Pawlenty said President Obama needs to be held accountable for this mess and quit blaming everything on Bush. Pawlenty says, “as important as the debt ceiling is, the other issue is on whether we are going to fix the spending problems of this country deserve attention.” “Where is the President of the United States on the most pressing financial challenges of our country on entitlement reform…..the answer is he doesn’t have one….. and that’s why he needs to be removed from office,” Pawlenty adds. Then he asks President Obama, “would you please come to the microphone, and quit hiding in the basement, about your proposals and address the American people. Is he chicken?” In the second half of the interview the left leaning CNN host wanted to know if New York would be harmed for allowing gays to marry. Pawlenty addressed this pressing issue. With 3 or 4 wars going on, the economy taking a huge dump, and unemployment reaching new highs, I’m glad to see CNN taking on the important stuff. 5 minutes of a 12 minute interview on gay marriages.

Congressman David Wu And Teen Sex

david wu
The pictures says a thousand words about Congressman David Wu (D-OR). But he has even more craziness to offer. The 56 year old Wu has been accused of a “unwanted sexual encounter” with a teenage daughter of one of his close friends. According to The Oregonian Wu, “acknowledged a sexual encounter to his senior aides but insisted it was consensual.” There has been no criminal complaint filed by the young lady or her family. He has a history of sexual assault with charges going all the way back to his time in college 1976. He has been acting strange lately, but still won re-elected during the 2010 elections. Wu has been known to wonder around Portland acting as a homeless person, and has problems with alcohol. His staff and psychiatrist staged an intervention and he refused to seek help, after which most of his staff quit. In 2007 Wu delivered a speech on the House floor about Vulcans working in the Bush administration. Apparently he thinks Star Trek was for real. The picture of Wu in his tiger suit was sent out to staffers just before his 2010 election. This was the final straw for many of his staffers which quit shortly after the picture was sent to them in an email. The bad part about all of this is he will get off scott free and we will pay his way for the rest of his life. It’s great to be a Congressperson!!!

MSNBC Host Owned By Rep Mo Brooks

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), a conservative, was discussing the bailout with MSNBC host Contessa Brewer. Brewer was insisting the bailouts prevented a major depression and Brooks said he disagreed with that. Brewer jumped up on her high hat and asked Brooks, “do you have a degree in economics?” Brewer quickly responded, “Yes ma’am, I do. Highest honors.” Rep. Brewer, graduated from Duke University in three years with a double major in political science and economics, with highest honors in economics. In 1978, he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School. Just makes me wonder where poor Contessa earned her B.A. in journalism, and if they teach them to ask stupid questions like that there? I’m sure she had at least a freshman class in economics to help her school those mean ole conservatives.

The Democrats have been bringing up President Reagan a lot lately when talking about the debt ceiling. The GOP released this video in response to point out there is really no comparison to President Obama and President Reagan.

Obama The Lame Duck By Sarah Palin

Here is a copy of a Facebook post by Sarah Palin titled, ‘Lame Duck President’ which seems to hit the nail on the head:

After listening to the President’s press conference today, let’s keep in mind the following:

This is the same president who proposed an absurdly irresponsible budget that would increase our debt by trillions of dollars, and whose party failed to even put forward a budget in over 800 days! This is the same president who is pushing our country to the brink because of his reckless spending on things like the nearly trillion dollar “stimulus” boondoggle. This is the same president who ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations and demonized the voices of fiscal sanity who proposed responsible plans to reform our entitlement programs and rein in our dangerous debt trajectory. This is the same president who wanted to push through an increase in the debt ceiling that didn’t include any cuts in government spending! This is the same president who wants to slam Americans with tax hikes to cover his reckless spending, but has threatened to veto a bill proposing a balanced budget amendment. This is the same president who hasn’t put forward a responsible plan himself, but has rejected reasonable proposals that would tackle our debt. This is the same president who still refuses to understand that the American electorate rejected his big government agenda last November. As I said in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Tax Day Tea Party rally, “We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.”

Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis.

He has been deemed a lame duck president. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such.

His foreign policy strategy has been described as “leading from behind.” Well, that’s his domestic policy strategy as well. Why should he be surprised that he’s been left behind in the negotiations when he’s been leading from behind on this debt crisis?

Thank you, GOP House leaders. Please don’t get wobbly on us now.

2012 can’t come soon enough.
