From the GOP; “In this week’s address, House Republican Conference Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) outlines the Cut, Cap and Balance Act passed in the House of Representatives this week. It is designed to cut wasteful government spending, cap future spending and put in place a Balanced Budget Amendment to ensure a prosperous economic future for our children and grandchildren. It is the only viable plan that will spur job creation in our country without raising taxes on the American people. The president and Senate Democrats have failed to come up with their own plans to save our economy. It’s time for them to stand with the American people and House Republicans to get our fiscal house in order.”

From the White House; “President Obama discusses the urgency of Democrats and Republicans coming together to take a balanced approach to cutting the deficit to strengthen our economy and secure our future.” The President is calling for a bipartisan approach to the debt talks. I guess he is past that “we won, get over it and deal with it” era. Now he is learning he needs to deal with it or we aren’t going to get over it as a country.

How Obama’s Wall Street Reform Is Working For You

Watch to find out more about the consumer protections and long term structural changes put in place by the historic act, and get the facts about the lobbyists and special interests who are trying to undermine it.” Jim Messina, Obama’s campaign manager, has sent out an email to supporters telling them about Obama’s Wall Street reform. According to Messina, “This morning, a group of public servants showed up to work at a brand-new agency created to protect everyday Americans from the abuses of Wall Street. They’re the folks of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and they’ll be the cops on the beat protecting consumers from predatory credit card and mortgage lenders, bait-and-switch creditors, and anyone trying to make a quick buck by deceiving or manipulating Americans who are just trying to secure their financial future. Many Americans don’t know it, but this bureau is just one part of a sweeping Wall Street reform law — the most pro-consumer and pro-taxpayer reform of our financial system since the Great Depression — that President Obama signed a year ago today.” Messina also points out that, “each and every Presidential candidate on the other side opposes this law.” But we can rest assured, “that our common financial future is more protected from the irresponsibility of a few. Watch Out For The White Terrorist According To DHS

The Department of Homeland Security has showed up in Wal-Marts lately asking us to turn in our suspicious neighbors. Now DHS has a new video that helps you find those suspicious looking people. The first hint I get from the video is they will most likely be a middle class white dude wearing a hoodie. This video is part of DHS “See Something, Say Something” program that encourages Americans to report “suspicious activity,” much like dictatorial regimes in the past. Historically, governments who encourage their own citizens to report on each other do so not for any genuine safety concerns or presumed benefits to security, but in order to create an authoritarian police state that coerces the people into policing each other’s behavior and thoughts. Red China, communist Russia and Nazi Germany all had similar programs. Despite the fact they encourage you not to pay attention to a person’s skin color or religion in the video, all the bad guys are white males. And to make things worse, all the good “patriotic Americans” that report these suspicious white guys are either black, Asian or Arab. DHS has turned into the Dream Police. I can’t wait till Big Sis is unemployed.

Reagan Or Obama On The Budget?

The left wing pundits have been tossing President Reagan’s name around a lot lately during the debt talks. CPC Chairmen Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), as well as Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.), who heads the CPC budget taskforce put together a letter from the Reagan era that demonstrates Reagan’s desire to raise the debt ceiling. In 1983 Reagan wrote a letter to Howard Baker urging the Congress to raise the debt limit. During his presidency they raised the limit 17 times. “The full consequences of a default, or even the serious prospect of default, by the United States are impossible to predict and awesome to contemplate. Denigration of the full faith and credit of the United States would have substantial effects on the domestic financial markets and on the value of the dollar in exchange markets,” Reagan added. “The nation can ill afford to allow such a result.” Here is a video from Right Change that compares Reaganomics to Obamanomics.
