Ron Paul Says America Is On It’s Way To Serfdom

Ron Paul was on the Fox business channel claiming America is on the road to serfdom. “I think we give more to the government now than what the serfs had to give to their government, but it’s more deceitful now.” according to Paul.

Republican Weekly Address 7/9/2011

From the GOP; “House Republican Conference Vice Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) delivers the Weekly Republican Address. She discusses the latest monthly jobs report, which shows increased unemployment and a stalled economic recovery. House Republicans have passed nine bills to spur job growth and foster an environment of confidence for America’s small businesses- but Senate Democrats have taken no action on these bills. The president has failed to understand that our nation spends too much, not taxes too little. Further taxing businesses across America will destroy any chances of economic recovery. It’s time for real solutions.”

The Audacity Of Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney has released another rapid response web ad called, ‘The Audacity of Indifference. CNN Saturday Morning: Plouffe’s Statement/Romney’s Reaction.’ According to Romney, “if David Plouffe were working for him, he would fire him so that he could experience firsthand the pain of unemployment. The White House’s insistence that Americans do not care about unemployment rates is an insult to the more than 20 million people who are out of work, underemployed or who have simply stopped looking for jobs. The White House has turned the “Audacity of Hope” into the “Audacity of Indifference.””

Michelle Bachmann Will Not Vote To Increase The Debt Ceiling

Michelle Bachmann has released a new web ad that says she will not vote to increase the debt ceiling. “As a descendant of generations of Iowans, I was born and raised in Waterloo. As a mom of five, a foster parent and a former tax lawyer and now a small business job creator, I know we can’t keep spending money that we don’t have,” Bachmann says. “That’s why I fought against the wasteful bailout, against the stimulus. I will not vote to increase the debt ceiling.”

798 Days Since Senate Democrats Bothered To Pass A Budget

From the House Budget Committee;

Congressman Paul Ryan, Chairman of the House Budget Committee, told CNBC that: “The problem is we have not gotten any counter offers from our partners on the other side of the aisle. No budget from the Senate and no proposal from the White House that actually deals with this problem. The president’s budget dramatically increases the debt. He came out with a speech, which the CBO tells us they can’t score a speech. We really haven’t had any actual specific, credible alternatives from the other side of the aisle on how to achieve this. We put a lot of details out there, we are hoping our partners on the other side of the aisle do the same. I think we could do this by the end of the month’s time.”

Maria Bartiromo: It’s interesting what you are saying, I don’t know that most people understand that you haven’t gotten anything from the other side and some people in some corners, they would argue with that. Why haven’t you seen a budget proposal from the Senate side, for example and how long has it been?

Congressman Ryan: “It’s been about 800 days since the Senate bothered to pass a budget. Mind you, our law here requires every year for Congress to pass a budget by April 15. We have done that and they haven’t for about two years now. I think the reason they didn’t do this is because they don’t want to show the people the kind of tax increases they have in store for the American people and for the economy.

Rick Scott Helps You Write Letters To The Editor

Rick Scott is trying everything to help his poll numbers, including a state wide letter writing campaign. He is asking supporters to send letters to the editors of local newspapers, and to make things easier for you he has already written the letter for you. All you need to do is sign it, and forward it to your favorite local newspaper.
Scott writes for you to send;

When Rick Scott ran for Governor he promised to create jobs and turn our economy around. I voted for Rick because he’s always been a businessman, not a politician. While politicians usually disappoint us and rarely keep their promises, Rick is refreshing because he’s keeping his word. His policies are helping to attract businesses to our state and get people back to work. Some of the special interests are attacking the Governor for making tough decisions, showing leadership, and doing what he told us he would do. Rick Scott deserves our unwavering and enthusiastic support. How can we expect to elect leaders who will keep their word and do what’s right for our state if we don’t stand up for those with the courage to set priorities, make difficult choices, and actually deliver on their promises made?

Stephen Colbert couldn’t let this be the only form letter for Governor Scott and he wrote his own letter for supporters to send;

Dear Editor,

It is my strong belief that Rick Scott is a(n) [adjective] governor. His letter praising himself makes me want to [verb] up. I [adverb] [verb] this great nation, and everyone should [verb] Rick Scott with a [noun] for a(n) [interjection ]full-body shave like a naked mole rat.

Sincerely,
[Name], [City]
