Obama Says McCain Don’t Know Much

Barack Obama has released a new ad that uses an old Sam Cooke classic “Wonderful World,” to demonstrate McCain is out of touch. The re-written lyrics include, “I am not up on the economy/Don’t know much about industry/Really can’t explain the price of gas/Or what has happened to the middle-class.” Then they wrap it up with a picture of McCain and President Bush walking a away together with the narrator asking, “Do we really want four more years of the same old tune?”

The RNC Asks Was Hillary Right

The Republican National Committee has released a new ad that stars Hillary Clinton, and asks “was she right?” The narrator asks “Who has the experience to govern our nation,” and then they show a clip of Hillary Clinton saying, “Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, I will bring a lifetime of experience, and Senator Obama will bring a speech he gave in 2002.” “Barack Obama, he gives a great speech,” the narrator then says. “But now Americans must ask ourselves, ‘Should we elect the most inexperienced candidate of our times,’ or was she right?” This is the third ad this week by Republicans that have starred Clinton in them. McCain released two earlier this week. In one of his McCain claims Obama did not pick Clinton as VP because she told the truth about him during the primaries.

Ed Rendell Calls MSNBC The Official Obama Network

Pennsylvania Governor, Ed Rendell, was scheduled to give the closing speech at the Shorenstein Center sponsored panel discussion which included NBC’s Tom Brokaw, ABC’s George Stephanopoulous and CBS’s Bob Schieffer as moderators. He instantly smashed any sense of unity within Democratic party by saying, “Ladies and gentleman, the coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing. It was embarrassing.” Rendell said, “Running for the most important office in the world, Obama got basically a free pass.” He really took offense of the MSNBC’s coverage calling it “absolutely embarrassing.” Rendell then claimed, “MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign.” Rendell, who was a Clinton supporter during the primaries but now supports Obama, went on to say that Chris Mathews “loses his impartiality when he talks about the Clintons.” It was about this point that moderator Judy Woodruff chimed in and said, “Why don’t we let Governor Rendell sit down,” which was met by applause from the crowd of media types. Apparently they did not want to hear what Rendell had to say. They would rather sweep any signs of disunity within the democratic party and the media under the rug. Woodruff tried to dispel any rumors of unfairness in the media and especially MSNBC by saying Matthews and Keith Olbermann are “not the only voices” on MSNBC. It is funny this same group would be quick to call Fox News biased, but are OK with some bias at MSNBC. It is that fine separation between news and commentary that keeps creeping into each other. It will never get fixed as long as they keep shutting down those that try to point it out. Rendell gave an opposing point of view after the others almost broke their arms patting themselves on the back claiming the media coverage of the presidential campaign has been largely fair, focused on important issues and relatively free of sexism. Rendell was right, and they should have heard him out, instead of shutting him down.

Fox News Struggles With DNC Reports

Fox News reporter, Griff Jenkins, tried to get interviews within one of the protest marches in Denver and was faced with chants of “fuck fox news.” It appears the protesters aren’t fans of Fox News.

Just How Smart Is Biden?

Here is an old video from Joe Biden’s first run for the president. He was asked by the press about his schooling, and responded back, “I think I have a much higher IQ than you do.” I guess it wasn’t a high enough IQ to write his own speeches, since he was caught plagiarizing speeches from members of the British Labour Party, and later had to drop out of the race because of the embarrassment.
