Scott Brown Wants To Let America Be America Again

Scott Brown has linked his opponent Elizabeth Warren with President Obama and his “you didn’t build that” comment in his latest campaign ad. Warren said, “There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own,” at a campaign stop about a year ago, which is almost the same as President Obama saying, ““If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.” “When you do well, everyone else does well,” Brown tells business owners in the video. “And I promise you this, I will never demonize you as business leaders and business owners for the work you do or the opportunities you create because I think we should not be blaming you, we should be thanking you.”

Work Starts At RNC With Union Labor

Work on the RNC at the Tampa Bay Times Forum is well on its way with still over a month to go. Most of the labor at the RNC are members of labor unions including many of the production people, forklift drivers, steel workers, riggers, and carpenters. I.A.T.S.E. Local 321 has managed to get much of the production labor despite the fact the Times Forum is traditionally a scab venue. This goes against the grain of the story line that republicans are anti labor even though the Republican party often uses union labor for their big events. In the Tampa Bay area local 321 has worked for both sides of the aisles, including a mock debate for candidate Obama and a real debate during the republican primaries sponsored by The Tea Party and CNN. During the 2008 elections the democrats were threatened by the unions with bad advertising before they capitulated and used them for the convention. Sometimes reality doesn’t fit the storyline. Check back here for updates on the RNC from Tampa including pictures of the progress.

Mitt Romney Has Tampered With The Video Making Misleading Attack Ads

President Obama has a new campaign video out that takes on Mitt Romney’s attack on Obama’s “if you got a business” statement. They accuse Romney of creative editing to make it sound as if Obama is saying one thing, when he claims to have said something else. The campaign says, “Romney deliberately altered the meaning of the President’s words. Actually, he was talking about, ‘building infrastructure and education, not that individuals don’t build their businesses.'”

Obama’s campaign is offering the “whole tape” to let you decide what he says. According to the campaign, “Romney is deliberately editing President Obama’s words to launch another false attack on the President’s support for small business. Not only does Mitt Romney get the President’s remarks wrong, he actually thinks that what the President said is right.”

President Obama Says We Have A Choice Between Two Different Plans

President Obama’s latest TV ad campaign is called “The Choice.” “Over the next four months you have a choice to make. Not just between two political parties or even two people. It’s a choice between two very different plans for our country,” President Obama says. “Sometimes politics can seem very small. But the choice you face, it couldn’t be bigger.” According to the press release on the campaign ad, “Obama for America released a new television advertisement today titled “The Choice.” The American people will decide over the next four month between two fundamentally different plans for our country, and OFA’s new ad features President Obama laying out the choice of how to grow the economy, create middle-class jobs and pay down the debt. The President’s plan ensures everyone pays their fair share and still invests in the things we need to create jobs and grow our economy over the long term, like education, energy, and infrastructure.”

President Obama Says His Job Council Is Not For Show, And Then They Don’t Show

Back in January President Obama said this about his job council;

“One of the things that’s been striking about this Jobs Council is how focused and how hard-working everybody has been around this table. This has not been a show council. This has been a work council.And because of the extraordinary commitments that each and every one of you have made, we have generated I think as good a set of proposals as we have seen coming out of the private sector to help to guide and steer our economic agenda and our approach to jobs and growth over the next couple of years.”

This was from the Opening and Closing Remarks by the President to the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness The problem is, this is the same council that hasn’t met in over 6 months while economy has remained stagnant at best.

The White House Press secretary was asked about the Job’s Council not meeting recently, and he responded, “the President’s obviously got a lot on his plate.” I’m guessing fund-raisers, golf games, and birthday parties are more important than working on jobs in America.
