President Obama spoke from Colorado Springs today about the wildfires that are burning in Colorado. President Obama said, “one of the things I’ve done here, in addition to saying thank you to these firefighters, is to let them know that all of America has their back.” According to the White House, “President Obama speaks to the American people from Colorado, where he toured areas impacted by the devastating Waldo Canyon fire, met with affected families, and thanked firefighters, first responders, and volunteers.”

Mitt Romney Uses Hillary Clinton In Latest Campaign Ad

According to the Romney campaign, “Barack Obama has a history of attacking his opponents with lies, and his attacks against Mitt Romney are simply not true. Unlike President Obama who has the worst job record since the depression, Mitt Romney has a plan to get America working.”

President Obama On Delivering Affordable Health Care

I know there will be a lot of discussion today about the politics of all this, about who won and who lost. But that discussion completely misses the point. Whatever the politics, today’s decision was a victory for people all over this country whose lives will be more secure because of this law and the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold it.

If you’re one of the more than 250 million Americans who already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance—this law will only make it more secure and more affordable.

Insurance companies can no longer impose lifetime limits on the amount of care you receive. They can no longer discriminate against children with pre-existing conditions. They can no longer drop your coverage if you get sick. They can no longer jack up your premiums without reason.

They are required to provide free preventive care like check-ups and mammograms. Young adults under the age of 26 are able to stay on their parent’s health care plans. Seniors receive a discount on their prescription drugs.

And by this August, nearly 13 million of you will receive a rebate from your insurance company because it spent too much on things like administrative costs and CEO bonuses, and not enough on your health care. All of this is happening because of the Affordable Care Act.

Today, I’m as confident as ever that when we look back five years from now, or 10 years from now, or 20 years from now, we’ll be better off because we had the courage to pass this law and keep moving forward.

On Day One, Job One For Mitt Romney Will Be To Repeal Obamacare

According to the Romney campaign, “In a few months, Americans will cast their ballots and make a choice. Do we continue on a path of rising, out of control health care costs? Do we continue with massive tax increases to fund a new two trillion dollar program? Do we continue stifling our economy with a growing government that discourages hiring? Or do we chart a new course and change directions. The Supreme Court may have made their decision, but the American people haven’t. Day one. Job one. Repeal Obamacare.”

RNC Calls Health Care Mandate Just Another Broken Promise

Since the Supreme Court has ruled that the health care bill is now considered a tax, the RNC calls it another broken promise from President Obama. In 2009, Barack Obama said that his “signature piece of legislation” was “absolutely not a tax.” Thursday’s Supreme Court decision upheld the individual mandate as a tax, yet another broken promise of the Obama administration. “In 2008, Candidate Obama promised middle class American families that they wouldn’t see their taxes go up under his administration, yet his signature legislation did just that,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “ObamaCare continues to be bad policy as health care costs are increasing, placing a large burden on job creators. Big Government is not the answer to health care reform and Americans know that new leadership is needed in the White House. As president, Mitt Romney will provide the real leadership needed to repeal ObamaCare and provide true health care reform.”

CNBC Host Says Obamacare Verdict A Terrible Day For Job Seekers

The market has gone south since the Supreme Court announced it was upholding Obamacare as a tax. CNBC host, Jim Cramer, says the market is just reacting to the verdict. According to Cramer, “At the same time, I think this is just a terrible decision people for the possibility of more employment for this year. Look, this is not a great thing for small business and I think that the market is afraid that small business will lay off people and I think that the market is taking it overall right in that this is just another reason why you should not hire and another reason why you should fire.”

The RNC Says The Final Verdict On Health Care Will Be This November

“Today’s Supreme Court decision sets the stakes for the November election. Now, the only way to save the country from ObamaCare’s budget-busting government takeover of health care is to elect a new president,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
“Under President Obama’s signature legislation, health care costs continue to skyrocket, and up to 20 million Americans could lose their employer-based coverage. A panel of unelected bureaucrats now has the unprecedented authority to come between elderly patients and their doctors. Meanwhile, the rules and regulations placed on job creators and small businesses make it nearly impossible to hire new workers at a time when Americans desperately need jobs.
We need market-based solutions that give patients more choice, not less. The answer to rising health care costs is not, and will never be, Big Government.
We must elect a president who understands the economy, respects free enterprise, and can provide the leadership we now so desperately need. On Election Day, we must elect Mitt Romney and put America on the path toward a brighter economic future and successful health care reform.”
The RNC have also launched a new web site, People V Obamacare, so Americans “can continue to fight for free market health care solutions that will decrease costs and increase care.”
