President Obama Says No Is Not An Option On The Dream Act

President Obama delivered remarks at a Cinco de Mayo reception in the Rose Garden yesterday, May 3rd. During his speech he spoke about support for the Dream Act. “A lot of you remember, over a year ago, we brought the DREAM Act to a vote in Congress, thanks to the hard work of many of you. And it passed the House and a majority of votes in the Senate. Unfortunately, we had some on the other side of the aisle that got together and blocked it. But we didn’t come this far just to let partisan politics stand in our way,” President Obama said. “So we’re going to keep fighting for this common-sense reform. Not just because hundreds of thousands of talented young students depend on it, but because ultimately America depends on it. “No” is not an option. I want to sign the DREAM Act into law. I’ve got the pens all ready. I’m willing to work with anybody who is serious to get this done, and to achieve bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform that solves this challenge once and for all,” Mr. Obama said to polite applause.

President Obama Is Running On Hype And Blame

The RNC have a new ad campaign out that says President Obama is running on “Hype and Blame” this year. They are releasing a new web ad just ahead of President Obama’s first ‘official’ campaign stops. Even though it appears President Obama has been campaigning for months the official start of the campaign is this week. “President Obama has no record to run on so he’s out on the campaign trail resorting to the very tactics he once campaigned against,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “It’s sad to see the candidate of ‘Hope and Change’ become the president of ‘Hype and Blame.’
Barack Obama once promised to hold himself accountable, but now he’s making excuses and blaming others for his failures. The ‘great uniter’ has resorted to dividing the American people against each other by creating animosity and scorn to win reelection. He doesn’t have a record to run on, so he’s painting his opponent as someone people should run from.”

The campaign says, “in 2008, President Obama promised to create millions of new jobs and invest in new energy sources. Today, the energy industry has lost thousands of jobs and Solyndra, to which the Obama Administration loaned over half a billion dollars, is out of business.”

Mitt Romney was speaking out about the fate of activist Chinese Chen Guangcheng who was seeking asylum, and he called it “a day of shame” for President Obama. “According to these reports if they’re accurate, that our embassy failed to put in place the kind of verifiable measures that would assure the safety of Mr. Chen and his family. If these reports are true, this is a dark day for freedom and it’s a day of shame for the Obama administration. We are a place of freedom, here and around the world, and we should stand up and defend freedom wherever it is under attack,” Mitt Romney said in Virginia today.
