Joe Biden Holds Record For Being Wrong The Most Times In Foreign Policy

Charles Krauthammer was on Fox News and said Vice-President Joe Biden holds the record for being on the wrong side of things with foreign policy matters. Krauthammer said, “The Vice President has been over the last 30 years holds the American record for wrong on the most issues in foreign affairs ever. And the list starts with the nuclear freeze in the early ’80s against Thatcher and Reagan and Cole which is one of the follies of the era. He supported it. He was against aid to the Nicaraguan Contras which in the end brought democracy and ended the Sandinista rule at the time. He was against Reagan’s expansion of the defense budget, which bankrupted the Soviet Union and led to the end of the Soviet Empire. He was against Reagan on Strategic Defenses, which is the big advantage that we have now in the missile age. And look at where he was on Iraq. He opposed the first Iraq War, the Gulf War that liberated Kuwait that everybody agrees was a good thing. He supported the Iraq War which he, not I, he says was a terrible mistake. And then when the surge happened, he opposed the surge in Iraq which rescued a losing war and ended with our leaving with our heads held high and some promise in the future.” Krauthammer added, “He is the Herbert Hoover of American foreign policy, and for him to be the spokesman for the administration on these affairs I think is rather ironic.”

John Boehner Wants To Know Why We Have To Fight About Everything

House Speaker John Boehner was on the floor yesterday speaking out for student loan interest rates. “While we don’t yet have the solution to the long-term solution to this problem, the Chairman is continuing to work on it, we believe that we shouldn’t put students at risk and that we ought to make sure that their interest rates don’t go up. So we developed the short-term policy to solve this problem for the next year while the committee has time to look at a long-term solution to this problem. Why do people in– why do people insist that we have to have a political fight on something where there is no fight? There is absolutely no fight. People want to politicize this because it’s an election year, but my God, do we have to fight about everything?” Boehner said. “And now, now we are going to have a fight over women’s health. Give me a break. You know, this is the latest plank in the so-called war on women. Entirely created, entirely created by my colleagues across the aisle for political gain.” According to Boehner, “the House “ignored a veto threat” and passed a measure to stop new student loan rates from doubling this summer. The bill pays for extending current rates by cutting a slush fund the president himself proposed cutting from ObamaCare — a law that’s making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers, including recent college graduates.” President Obama says he still plans on vetoing the bill.

GOP Weekly Address 4/28/2012 The President Is In Campaign Mode Intent On Dividing Americans

Representative and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (WIS-R) gave the GOP weekly address this week and spoke about the House Republican Budget, The Path to Prosperity. According to Ryan, “the United States Senate, which is controlled by the president’s own party, announced they would not advance a budget for the third year in a row. Tomorrow, in fact, will mark three years to the day since the Senate last fulfilled this basic governing responsibility.” He said, “the President and his party leaders are now insisting that Washington take trillions of dollars from hardworking Americans in an effort to lock in ever-higher government spending. If we’ve learned anything over the last three years, it’s that this approach won’t work.” According to Ryan, “there’s a better way forward: a budget, recently passed by the House of Representatives, that would lift the debt and free the nation from the constraints of ever-expanding government.” Ryan explains that “if enacted, this budget would promote economic growth and opportunity starting today, with bold reforms to the tax code and a credible, principled plan to prevent a debt crisis from ever happening. It would support safe, responsible energy exploration here at home to address high gas prices and it would repeal the president’s health care law, which is making it harder for businesses to hire new workers.” But he complains that “the president is hunkered down in campaign mode, and seems intent on dividing Americans for political gain instead of offering credible solutions to our most pressing fiscal and economic challenges. And his party leaders in the Senate? They’re about to go another year without a budget.”
