President Obama’s Weekly Address 4/14/2012 Pass The Buffett Rule

From the White House; “President Obama urges Congress to pass the Buffett Rule — which asks those who make more than $1 million a year to pay at least the same percentage of their income in taxes as middle class families — as a principle of fairness.” President Obama says, “so I hope you’ll ask your Member of Congress to step up and echo that call this week by voting for the Buffett Rule. Remind them that in America, prosperity has never just trickled down from a wealthy few. Prosperity has always been built by a strong, thriving middle class. That’s a principle worth reaffirming right now.”

Classic Presidential Ad Ronald Reagan’s Bear Ad

This is an ad from the 1984 campaign from then President Ronald Reagan called, “The Bear.” “There is a bear in the woods,” is the opening line of the ad. The ad tried to prove that President Reagan would negotiate with the Russians based on peace through strength. His opponent Walter Mondale would rather talk with the Russians. According to the ad, “For some people, the bear is easy to see. Others don’t see it at all. Some people say the bear is tame. Others say it’s vicious and dangerous. Since no one can really be sure who’s right, isn’t it smart to be as strong as the bear? If there is a bear…” In those days the symbol for the Soviet Union was the bear.

This is the extended version of the ad. The original ad is only 31 seconds long.

President Obama Asked About All Those Vacations, And He Doesn’t Have An Answer

St. Louis’s KMOV Larry Conners interviewed President Obama and asked him about all those vacations that he has been taking on the public dollar. Conners asked, “The economy is a big issue and concern for folks. I mean, the unemployment, trying to make ends meet, gas prices, food prices going up. Some of our viewers are complaining, they get frustrated, even angered, when they see the first family jetting around, different vacations and so forth, sometimes maybe they think under color of state business and that you’re out of touch, that you don’t really know what they’re experiencing right now.” At first Obama tried to side step the question and pretend those people didn’t really exist. Then he said in typical political fashion nothing, “but the fact of the matter is, I think if you look at my track record, I’m raising a family here. When we travel, we got to travel through Secret Service, and Air Force One, that’s not uh, that’s not my choice. I think most folks understand how hard I work and how hard this administration is working on behalf of the American people.” Conners later admits “the President side stepped that question. No one is questioning his need to travel on Air Force One or have security.” Conners should have added that the President is also campaigning on the taxpayers dollar.

President Obama And Michelle Had To Work Hard For Their Money

If you were thinking Hillary Rosen’s comment on Ann Romney was an isolated incident, then consider President Obama claiming on Friday that Michelle “didn’t have the luxury not to work.” President Obama made this statement in a speech on Friday the 6th, which is before Rosen’s comment. He actually set the stage for the attack on the non-working mom, Ann Romney. Even though they threw Rosen under the bus almost immediately, she was just following the agenda of the campaign. It’s more like she took one for the team.

New Mitt Romney Bumper Sticker, Moms Drive The Economy

Thanks to the recent Democratic adviser insulting mothers across American and Ann Romney personally, the Romney campaign is capitalizing on this incident to put out a new bumper sticker. The campaign sent supporters a letter stating,

Friend,

If you’re a stay-at-home mom, the Democrats have a message for you: you’ve never worked a day in your life.

That’s exactly what Obama adviser Hilary Rosen said about Ann Romney last night.

Ann Romney represents the best of what happens inside the American home every day. Family. Something to be cherished, not mocked.

Her choice was to stay at home and raise her five sons. That is no easy task for any mother — especially a woman who battled through breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.

As a mother and a former Chief of Staff to Governor Romney, I can say first-hand that raising my kids was the toughest job I’ve ever had.

We stand with Mitt and Ann in saying that all women play an important role in our country. America deserves a president who will bring us together — not pit us against each other.
