Ted Turner Thinks It Is Good American Servicemen Are Committing Suicide

Ted Turner, who founded cable news network CNN, was on Piers Morgan to talk about giving money to the UN. Turner had given one billion dollars to the UN, which was a third of his personal worth. The talk turned to our American servicemen fighting in Afghanistan and the fact that more are dying from suicide than actual combat these days, and Turner said, “it’s time to put war and conflict behind us and move on, and start acting like civilized, educated human beings.” Morgan brought up the fact that, more American servicemen are “dying now from suicide over there than are dying in combat,” and called it “shocking.” Turner responded, “Well, what – no. I think it’s ter..I think it’s good, because it’s so clear that we’re programmed and we’re born to love and help each other, not to kill each other – to destroy each other. That’s an aberration. That’s left over from hundreds of years ago. It’s time for to us start acting enlightened.” So suicides by our servicemen are just them getting a bit of enlightenment? Notice he almost calls it terrific, and stopped short calling it just good. Disgusting billionaire. Only two words I can come up with right now.
