Obama Sandbags For Votes

Barack Obama visited the flood zone in Quincy, Illinois to help them bag a few sandbags and encourage others to do it as well. Obama told the press that since being in public office he has not seen “this kind of devastation.” Apparently he didn’t get to close to the Katrina devastation, he might have even seen a body float by if he had helped out there. He stopped by filled up about 15 bags and got some good pictures. He also vowed to push for state and federal aid to help victims of the floods. He did all this while wearing a nice white dress shirt that he failed to even get dirty. Some might look at this as a sign of good leadership. To me it looks like another chance to get a photo op, while exploiting other people’s tragedies. “This is really making a difference and obviously nothing compares to what’s happening in Cedar Rapids right now. And our hearts go out to them,” Obama said. “But you know in some ways the situation in Cedar Rapids now, we’re just gonna have to let Mother Nature run its course. Here we can still prevent some of the problems.” Obama seemed happy to get away from the podium, saying “There’s something liberating about manual labor, instead of talking all the time.” I guess a flood can be all fun and games when you can leave and go to your safe home that Rezko helped you buy.

According to what I heard around Quincy the next day is that Obama didn’t even break a sweat and made everyone quit working for around 2 hours so he could do his photo op. That’s 2 hours of nothing getting done. All I’ve been hearing is how he’s lost a lot of votes from the workers out there and those waiting for the sandbags in other places.

I would really like to get the real story out. Yeah he filled a bag or two but roads shut down for about an hour. Dump trucks carrying sand in and sand bags out were locked down. All the volunteers were stopped from working for 45 min. I cannot comment on his intention of showing up but we would have been better off if he would have just stayed home.

ok! Well then! This is definitely NOT a pro Obama blog. I’ll put Alan Cosgrove and “Anonymous” down as for McCain. Thank you very much.

If Obama did not show up then Alan Cosgrove would be railing on him for not caring. He is damned if he does and damned if he does not! Alan Cosgrove is just going to be anti Obama no matter what.
