Opie, Sheriff Taylor, And The Fonz Offer Support For Obama

Movie director Ron Howard stars in a new video endorsing presidential candidate Barack Obama. “I’ve never done this before and I hope never to do it again, but I guess you could say I’m feeling pretty desperate these days,” Howard says in the video. “So, as a demonstration of my sincerity, this is for you America.” Howard goes to make up and comes out in black and white as his old character Opie from “The Andy Griffith Show,” and tells his first TV dad Andy Taylor he wants to vote for Barack Obama. Sheriff Taylor tells him he can but he should avoid the “butter-fly ballot.” Then it is back to makeup to change into his next TV character teenager Richie Cunningham. He meets up with the Fonz from “Happy Days,” and talks about dating and voting. Howard gets the actual actors Andy Griffith to play Andy, and Henry Winkler to play the Fonz for the video. This video was brought to us by the web site started by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay called Funny or Die, which is the same folks that brought us the Paris Hilton video a few months back.
