John Kerry Calls For An Unbelievably Small Effort In Syria

Secretary John Kerry is now calling for just a little bit of effort in Syria in response to the use of chemical weapons. In response to a question at a presser Kerry said, “I believe that the aftermath of the Iraq experience and Afghanistan leave a lot of people saying, “We don’t want to see our young people coming back in a body bag,” and so forth. But that’s not what we’re talking about. And what we have to do is make clear to people that this is – we’re not talking about war. We’re not going to war. We will not have people at risk in that way. We will be able to hold Bashar Assad accountable without engaging in troops on the ground or any other prolonged kind of effort in a very limited, very targeted, very short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria’s civil war. That is exactly what we’re talking about doing – unbelievably small, limited kind of effort.”

President Obama’s Weekly Address 9/7/2013 Syria Is A Threat To Our National Security

In his weekly address, President Obama makes the case for limited and targeted military action to hold the Assad regime accountable for its violation of international norms prohibiting the use of chemical weapons. President Obama says, “we are the United States of America. We cannot turn a blind eye to images like the ones we’ve seen out of Syria. Failing to respond to this outrageous attack would increase the risk that chemical weapons could be used again; that they would fall into the hands of terrorists who might use them against us, and it would send a horrible signal to other nations that there would be no consequences for their use of these weapons. All of which would pose a serious threat to our national security.”

GOP Weekly Address 9/7/2013 Stand By For Sticker Shock Of Obamacare

Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming says that many families are going to have “sticker shock” when they see what they’ll have to pay for health insurance under government insurance exchanges that go into effect in less than a month as part of Obamacare. In the Weekly Republican Address, Sen. Barrasso, a practicing physician for 25 years before coming to Congress, notes that the President refuses to acknowledge that Obamacare “fails to solve the number one concern of Americans when it comes to health care — which is cost.” The American people have a choice, says Senator Barrasso — embrace Obamacare for four more years, or repeal the law and move quickly to help people get the care they need, from a doctor they choose, at lower cost. “That’s what Republicans are fighting for,” he says. “It’s time for Democrats to join us.”

President Obama Claims He Didn’t Set Any Red Lines, Congress Did It

During a press briefing with the Swedish Prime Minister today President Obama said he didn’t “set a red line.” He blamed that mess on the International community and Congress. He also added that his “credibility is not on the line.” The first question of the event came from Steve Holland of Reuters who asked the President, “Have you made up your mind whether to take action against Syria whether or not you have a congressional resolution approved? Is a strike needed in order to preserve your credibility for when you set these sort of red lines? And were you able to enlist the support of the prime minister here for support in Syria?” President Obama responded, “Let me unpack the question. First of all, I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line. The world set a red line when governments representing 98 percent of the world’s population said the use of chemical weapons are abhorrent and passed a treaty forbidding their use even when countries are engaged in war. Congress set a red line when it ratified that treaty. Congress set a red line when it indicated that in a piece of legislation titled the Syria Accountability Act that some of the horrendous thing that are happening on the ground there need to be answered for. And so, when I said, in a press conference, that my calculus about what’s happening in Syria would be altered by the use of chemical weapons, which the overwhelming consensus of humanity says is wrong, that wasn’t something I just kind of made up. I didn’t pluck it out of thin air. There was a reason for it. That’s point number one. Point number two, my credibility is not on the line. The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America and Congress’ credibility is on the line because we give lip service to the notion that these international norms are important.”

A Facebook Comment On Syria, Stand By For Cold War II

This comes from a comment section on an article about involvement with Syria. The author Kevin M.

Prob should be prepared for COLD WAR II
Russia made a 25 year deal to be the sole supplier of oil to China. Not to be traded in US dollars, aka petrodollars. The US crushed the Soviet Union’s economy; end of Cold War I. What comes around goes around.. Hopefully NOT !!
Syria is a stepping stone to Iran, the geography, Hello! + the bad asses in Israel. Don’t forget the Russia, China, Iran alliance my friend.
HERE’S THE DEAL–
Syria, just another smokescreen to add to the confusion for the Fed announcement Sept 17 & Obamacare TAX implementation Oct 1; distract from the Muslim march on 9/11 & the anniversary of Benghazi.
It’s a Central world bank, UN thing.
FACT= REALITY= No guns + total amnesty (cannot electronically deposit non-citizen, no work permit individual’s pay into their bank account, duh) + Obamacare TAX (1/6 of the total US economy+ complete & total intelligence on each & every individual in the US) = attempting to turn the US into a Completely cashless society= absolutely NO privacy and NO freedom= complete & total control= slavery. The government WILL know completely everything u do, everything u purchase + when u purchased the item + everything u have + how much u have at ALL times. It’s not just your money, it IS YOUR freedom. If u fall for this one kiss any & all freedom u have or ever wanted to have goodbye.

Rand Paul To John Kerry: “We Play Constitutional Theater For The President”

During the Congressional hearings on the U.S. getting involved with Syria Senator Rand Paul told Secretary John Kerry that, “we play Constitutional theater for the President.”

Madison was very explicit, when he wrote the Federalist papers, he wrote that history supposes, or the constitution supposes what history demonstrates is that the executive is the branch most likely to go to war and therefore the constitution vested that power in the Congress. It is explicit throughout all of Madison’s writings. This power is a Congressional power and it is not an executive power. They didn’t say big war, small war. They didn’t say boots on the ground, not boots on the ground. They said declare war.

Ask the people on the ships launching the missiles if they are involved in war or not. If we do not say that the constitution applies, if we do not say explicitly that we will abide by this vote, you’re making a joke of us. You’re making us into theater. We play constitutional theater for the president. If this is real, you will abide by the verdict of Congress. You’re probably going to win. Just say it is real and let’s have a real debate in this country and not a meaningless debate that in the end you lose and say, ‘oh well, we had the authority anyway, we’re going to go ahead and go to war anyway.’

How Does The US Public Keep Getting Duped Into Going To War

This is a guest post from reader Dave J.
Those who are interested in how the public gets duped into following these war mongers need to look no further than these recent propaganda videos where the message was clearly pro US military force.

Nayirah al-Ṣabaḥ (Arabic: نيره الصباح‎), called “Nurse Nayirah” in the media, was a fifteen-year-old Kuwaiti girl, who alleged that she had witnessed the murder of infant children by Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait, in verbal testimony to the U.S. Congress, in the run up to the 1991 Gulf War. Her testimony, which was regarded as credible at the time, has since come to be regarded as wartime propaganda. The public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, which was in the employ of Citizens for a Free Kuwait, had arranged the testimony. Nayirah’s testimony was widely publicized. Hill & Knowlton, which had filmed the hearing, sent out a video news release to Medialink, a firm which served about 700 television stations in the United States. That night, portions of the testimony aired on ABC’s Nightline and NBC Nightly News reaching an estimated audience between 35 and 53 million Americans. Seven senators cited Nayirah’s testimony in their speeches backing the use of force. President George Bush repeated the story at least ten times in the following weeks.

Recently Susan Rice on BenGhazi.

“But our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous — not a premeditated — response to what had transpired in Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive VIDEO that was disseminated.”

More propaganda can easily shown of how the military complex continues to use propaganda to encourage all Americans to support our military to be used in an offensive way instead of remaining at home in a defensive secure position.

We need to bring our boys and girls home!

Look at Syria’s recent history.
