Wesley Clark Airs Ad Aimed At Bush

Wesley Clark and votevets.org are airing three ads all aimed at George Bush and the war in Iraq. The first ad features retired Maj. Gen. John Batiste. They are being aired to coincide with the debate in Congress about the war. The ads are specifically aimed at Republicans that are on the fence and will be aired in their districts. In the first ad General Batiste takes on George Bush saying the President does not listen to his commanders on the ground. The ads are called “Protect America, Not George Bush.” Next weeks ad will feature retired Major General Paul Eaton, and the week after that they will have possible Presidential candidate former NATO Allied Supreme Commander, General Wesley Clark.

John Edwards Attacks Ann Coulter Again

John Edwards defended Barack Obama Wednesday against an attack on him by conservative hag Ann Coulter. Coulter told Fox News that the election of Barack Obama would only help al Qaeda. She also said that polls showing Obama beating any Republican candidate were fabricated. Edwards responded by saying, “Just when we thought Ann Coulter couldn’t take the politics of personal destruction any lower, she proved us wrong,” …… “Her outrageous comments are inexcusable and should not be tolerated in the public dialogue.” I guess that means Edwards doesn’t believe in freedom of speech. Her comments are obviously tolerated by the right, and even encouraged. If Edwards would just ignore her he would be better served. To bring it up like this only legitimizes Coulter as someone that should even be listened to. She has no real arguments to back herself up, that is why she always uses personal attacks. Edwards had his own run in with Coulter about a month ago when Coulter hinted that Edwards was a fag. Edwards argued that President Bush’s war on terror has “created a climate where people think it is OK to use the threat of terrorism as a guise for hateful political attacks.” huh?

Mitt Romney’s Third Ad

Mitt Romney has a new ad on the air. It is about his plans to make the military even stonger. “America must remain the world’s military superpower,” Romney says in the ad. “If we lock our arms together, we can forge the political will to rebuild our military might.” He would like to add another 100,000 troops, and commit 4% of the nation’s gross domestic product to military spending.
His ads appear on Fox News, and other strategic areas to help reach conservative voters. He is trying to spend some of that 21 million he raised in the first quarter.

Barack Obama Tells Detroit Automakers They Need Change

Barack Obama was in Detroit on Monday and he criticized the auto industry for it’s failure to keep up with foreign competitors on fuel efficiency. “For years, while foreign competitors were investing in more fuel-efficient technology for their vehicles, American automakers were spending their time investing in bigger, faster cars,” Obama told a group of business leaders. Obama has a plan for them that would cost Americans about 10 billion dollars. He wants to give the automakers 7 billion towards health care for their retired employees. Under this plan the automakers are required to invest half of those savings into technology to produce fuel efficient cars. Then he wants to give another 3 billion to the automakers to help them retool their plants to build these new fuel efficient cars. So Obama wants the U.S. taxpayer to pay for the automakers poor decisions of the last few decades, and help bail them out. It’s all so we can get out from under our dependence on foreign oil according to Obama. “The need to drastically change our energy policy is no longer a debatable proposition. It is not a question of whether, but how; not a question of if, but when. For the sake of our security, our economy, our jobs and our planet, the age of oil must end in our time.” Obama said we must focus more on the cars we drive and the fuel we use. Doing so could save as much as 2.5 million barrels a day. “It starts with our cars, because if we truly hope to end the tyranny of oil, the nation must once again turn to Detroit for another great transformation,” Obama said. And to the taxpayers wallets. This makes about as much sense as Bush giving the oil industry tax breaks to develop alternative fuels. Obama also wants to raise the fuel economy of cars by 4% each year, but Bush has already called for that one.
In other news about Obama, he is asking supporters to walk for Obama on June 9th. In a letter sent to supporters Obama says, “On June 9th, hundreds of thousands of people will have that experience as we take our campaign to the streets in all 50 states for a nationwide neighborhood walk. We’re calling it Walk for Change, and its success depends on you. I’m asking you for something extraordinary. I’m asking you to lead a group of supporters in your community in a neighborhood walk to let people know about our campaign.” If you want to sign up to the Walk for Obama day just click here.

The Republicans and The Ghost Of Ronald Reagan

The sight of the first Republican debate was Ronald Reagan’s Presidential library with Nancy Reagan on the first row. The candidates mentioned Reagan 19 times during this brief 90 minute debate. Most Republicans yearn for the good ole days of The Gipper. Here is a video from Air America’s Rachel Maddow’s Campaign Asylum where she attacks the conservatives obsessive embrace of all things Ronald Reagan.

Ron Paul Wins In Most Internet Polls, Are They Cheating?

Republican candidate Ron Paul leads in almost every minor internet poll out there I could find. Not only does he lead, but often he has 50% or more of the vote. They ask all kinds of questions, like who won last weeks Republican debate over at vote.com where Ron Paul has a slight lead over Mitt Romney. Over at the Daily Kos Ron Paul is second, with 30%, only to a Zombie Ronald Reagan with the same question. Doesn’t look like Daily Kos readers are satisfied with the Republican candidates. Over at Pajamas Media they even mention that they believe that Ron Paul supporters are cheating. At an ABC news poll they keep dropping Ron Paul off the list, but when he is on it he wins by a wide margin. They also have been deleting his supporters comments. Here at Fantasy Politics USA we have our own poll, a game called Presidential Idol. Each month we kick off the candidate with the least votes, and on November 08 we will pick the first Presidential Idol. We reset Presidential Idol each month, but since the start Ron Paul has blown away all the other candidates. This month he started the first day with about %98 of the vote. It really didn’t seem realistic, so we had to change a few things just to address this. The internet is where Ron Paul is popular, and many of his supporters must be pretty internet savvy. Finding little cheats to these internet polls is easy I’m sure. But unless these folks can figure out how to duplicate these results onto a real election, these results are senseless. To see a massive list of Political internet polls check out Ya Hooka’s list.

CBS News Turns Off Comments On Obama Articles Because of Racists

CBS has informed it’s staff through email that they should no longer enable the comments section on any Barack Obama article. The reason according to the email is that his stories have attracted to many racist comments. According to CBS, they have their “rules of engagement”, and they strictly prohibit racist attacks. Normally they would deal with this by just deleting the comments on an individual basis, but the volume of attacks brought on by his stories overwhelm them. According to CBS they have no plans to disable the comments section on any of the other Presidential candidate, and they hope they can bring back the comments on Obama stories. Racism exists, but should we censure it? Expose it? I guess this explains the early Secret Service protection that Obama got.

Newt Gingrich Says That Hillary Clinton Looks Foolish

Newt Gingrich was on Face The Nation today and told host Bob Schieffer that Hillary Clinton looked foolish with her call for repealing congressional authority for the Iraq war. “Well, I think, quite frankly, it made her look foolish,” Gingrich said. “If she honestly believed that we should get out of Iraq, vote no on the funding. The Congress has every authority under the Constitution to force the president out of Iraq.” Gingrich said that Hillary only does this to “appease her left who are very angry at her for, you know, not having gone back on her vote on the war.” Gingrich didn’t have anything bad to say about the Republican candidates. He did complain about the debates saying, “In the debate the other night, the Republicans averaged seven minutes and 20 seconds apiece, split up into 25- to 30-second answers,” he said. “The television celebrities dominate these things. They cut people off. They treat them with disrespect.” He has proposed a different style of debate. “Whoever the two nominees are, they should agree in advance to 90-minute dialogue time keeper, but no moderator 90 minutes a week, for nine weeks, from Labor Day to the election. Let the American people have in their living room a chance to see two adults.” Gingrich also talked about the possibility of him running in 08, and Gingrich is still thinking about it. “I’m going to spend all summer developing a new generation of solutions that are different than the current dialogue in Washington,” Gingrich said. “If people adopt them and people campaign on them, I probably won’t run. If, however, the ideas require an advocate and citizenship requires me to run, then in October, you know, starting on September 30th, we’ll look very seriously at whether or not that’s necessary.”
